Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Qatar | FIFA World Cup 2026- Group Stage | Preview and Predictions

Bosnia and Herzegovina enter into this fixture against Qatar with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of qualifying for the knockout stages of the World Cup knowing that anything less than a victory against an already-eliminated Qatar will mean that they will be eliminated from contention to qualify further.

Here is our Preview and Predictions for the game.

FIFA WC26 | Group B: BIH vs QAT | 00:30 IST, 25 June, 2026

While Bosnia might be still reeling from that 4-1 rollicking they received at the hands of Switzerland in their second game, they do not have much time to dwell on that defeat as they still have a lifeline to  make it to the next round, no matter how small the odds are.

For Bosnia to have a chance to qualify as one of the best 8 3rd-place teams, they will have to win by at least a 4-goal swing to improve their goal difference and hope that other results in other groups go in their favour.

However, they will have to play this game without their key defender Tarek Muharemovic, who was sent off against the Swiss and will miss this game due to suspension. While Bosnia will definitely take heart from their defensive performance for the first 74 minutes, they will try and avoid those mistakes after that seen them contrive to concede 4 goals in the next 20.

The Dragons will need their captain and talisman Edin Dzeko now more than ever to come up clutch in what is arguably the most important game in their history in recent years.

For Qatar, qualification looks nigh-on impossible after suffering a miserable 6-0 defeat against Canada while also getting two players sent off with red cards in the process. All they have left to play for at this point is pride and they would like to exit the competition with a semblance of respectability.

For Qatar, with their goal difference currently a staggering -6, they will have to win by a humongous 8 or 9-goal swing to have a chance, which in all fairness seems a little too far-fetched given their performances so far in this tournament.

We believe that Bosnia will eventually emerge victorious against a Qatar side that is already down a few players due to suspension, but whether or not they win with the margin that is required for qualification remains to be seen.

Score Predictions: Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 Qatar

Venue: Seattle Stadium, Seattle.
