Chelsea Football Club have teamed up with information services provider Signify Group to tackle online abuse.
The long-term partnership, focusing on the club’s women’s division (Chelsea Women), will leverage Signify’s multi-lingual Threat Matrix service to monitor targeted abuse aimed at Blues players, coaches, and key staff and respond to it accordingly, including escalation to the authorities if needed.
On the partnership, a Chelsea Women spokesperson said the following:
“The welfare of our players, coaches and staff is of the utmost importance to Chelsea FC Women. By working with Signify Group, we are taking proactive steps to further address online abuse and threats, ensuring our players, staff and the wider Chelsea Women’s family can focus on what matters most – competing at the highest level on the pitch.”
