Cleveland-Cliffs, a North American steel producer, announced in March 2022 a multi-year partnership agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The deal makes Cliffs the official jersey patch sponsor of the Cavaliers, with its logo featuring on the left chest of the Cavs jersey.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Fubo Gaming announced a multi-year partnership agreement in October 2021.
In February 2022, the two organisations signed a market access agreement, making Fubo Sportsbook the Cavaliers’ official mobile sports betting partner.
The extended partnership promotes the Fubo Sportsbook brand through an integrated marketing campaign highlighted by high-impact broadcast-visible signage, a team television and radio game programming presence, and activation on the Cavs’ digital and social channels as well as other marketing assets.
The Cavaliers and Fast, an online login and checkout service, announced a partnership agreement in November 2021 to help fans buy official team merchandise on CavaliersTeamShop.com or while attending games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the Cavs home ground.
In November 2022, the Cavaliers and Avery Dennison, a materials science and solutions provider, established a collaboration agreement that made the Ohio-based business the Official Embellishment Partner of the Cavaliers.
As a distinguishing element of the partnership, the Avery Dennison logo can be seen on the Cavs players’ shooting jerseys and warm-up jackets.
Socios.com, a blockchain provider in the sports industry, announced in July 2021 its partnership agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Socios.com, thus, has a digital presence on the Cavaliers’ social media accounts and is the presenting partner of their official website.
Socios.com also has the ability to leverage the Cavaliers’ marks and logos in connection with its various international marketing activities. During the 2021/22 NBA season, the Socios.com logo could be seen on the Cavs practice jerseys. The blockchain provider also has a brand presence at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse via broadcast-visible LED courtside signage.
In May 2021, the Cavaliers revealed telecommunications services provider Verizon as one of their official sponsors on a multi-year deal. Verizon, thus, serves as the team’s sole 5G mobile partner.
Aside from the Cleveland Cavaliers, the following 15 NBA teams have installed Verizon’s 5G technology in their respective arenas as well: the Memphis Grizzlies, the Denver Nuggets, the Detroit Pistons, the Golden State Warriors, the LA Clippers, the LA Lakers, the New York Knicks, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Sacramento Kings, the Utah Jazz, and the Washington Wizards.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and global sports betting and online gaming company Betway announced a multi-year partnership agreement in March 2021, the latter becoming an official Cavs partner in the process.
The deal puts the Betway logo on the Cavs court, with the company also gaining brand visibility via broadcast-visible LED signage courtside. Betway also serves as the presenting partner to Cavs HQ, which is the team’s magazine-style TV show broadcast on Fox Sports Ohio. Betway gains further visibility by appearing prominently on the digital media assets of the team.
KeyBank, a primary subsidiary of American regional bank KeyCorp, has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Over the course of their partnership, the two parties have worked on multiple community projects, including introducing the Cavaliers Community Marketing in 2021, which was aimed at helping serve fresh food to the local community.
Anheuser-Busch InBev, a multinational drink and brewing company based in Leuven, Belgium, is also an official sponsor of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The partnership sees its light beer Michelob Ultra feature prominently across the Cavs social media segments and other digital promotional assets.
An American mortgage lender headquartered in Detroit, Rocket Mortgage is also an official partner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and gains visibility by appearing prominently on their social media handles and other digital assets while also holding the naming rights for their home arena.
German sportswear brand Adidas and the Cavaliers are also partners, which has seen them team up on multiple occasions. In 2022, case in point, Adidas provided customised wear to the Cavs as part of the “Adidas Takeover Night” programme.
The JM Smucker Company-owned Jif is an American brand of peanut butter that has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Cavaliers, having been serving as their hometown partner for quite some time now.
As per the deal, Jif provides its products to the Cavs and gains exposure by featuring on their social media handles and other digital assets.
Insurance brokerage and risk management services company Oswald is also an official partner of the Cavaliers.
The partnership sees the two parties work on various community engagement activities, while the brand also gains visibility by appearing on the team’s digital assets.
The two recently teamed up in November 2023 for the “Cavaliers Community Foundation 50/50 Raffle” ticket.
It was announced in October 2023 that soft drink giant Coca-Cola and the Cavaliers had entered into a partnership agreement, as per which the former would serve as the latter’s Official Fan Refreshment Partner.
Some of the company’s beverages, such as Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Seagram’s, are made available at the Cavs’ home stadium as per the agreement. Sprite mainly collaborates with the Cavs to showcase parts where talent meets between arts, music, fashion, and basketball.
Coca-Cola gains further visibility through in-venue and in-game branding, retail promotions, fan giveaways, and other initiatives.
Cleveland Clinic and the Cavaliers have enjoyed a longstanding relationship, with the former having served as the team’s official healthcare provider since 1993.
The two parties most recently extended their long-term partnership on a multi-year basis in 2017, as per which the clinic continues to provide healthcare and medical services to all Cavs players as well as their families. Non-playing Cavs employees and fans are also offered exclusive benefits due to this partnership.
The deal also sees Cleveland Clinic hold the naming rights for the Cavs’ player training and development facility.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and SeatGeek announced a collaboration agreement in November 2020, allowing the digital company to take over as the primary ticket seller for all events held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
