Colombia vs Ghana | FIFA World Cup 2026 — Round of 32 | Preview and Prediction

This is the final Round of 32 fixture, to be played between Colombia and Ghana, with both sides looking to book their place in the Round of 16 on July 3 at Kansas City Stadium.

For the game, here we present our preview and prediction.

FIFA WC26 | Ro32: COL vs GHA | 07:00 IST, July 4, 2026

Colombia went unbeaten through their group to finish top, qualifying for the round of 32 after just their second game. Their final game with Portugal ended in a stalemate. While Luis Díaz, James Rodríguez, and Daniel Muñoz have been the heroes upfront for Colombia, goalkeeper Camilo Vargas has been virtually unbeatable at the back. Their defence has provided the required solidity, conceding only one goal in three group games.

As for Ghana, they played in a group with England and Croatia and still managed to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams. With a win against Panama and a hard-earned draw against England, their narrow loss to Croatia could not prevent their knockout qualification. The Black Stars have defended well and only conceded two goals in their three group games. Antoine Semenyo, Thomas Partey, and keeper Benjamin Asare have been the standout players for them at this World Cup so far.

While Colombia have a fully fit squad at their disposal, Ghana could miss defender Jerome Opoku due to physical discomfort for this game.

La Tricolor have looked great so far: they possess the attacking flair upfront, the control in midfield, and the defensive solidity at the back that make them a well-balanced side. The only thing they may want to work on is their finishing, as even though they create a lot of chances, they haven’t been very clinical. Ghana’s weakness, meanwhile, lies in their ability to create chances and score goals. They showed their compactness and defensive strength against England, but they are heavily reliant on Semenyo and Jordan Ayew to provide breakthroughs. Moreover, if we look at the two teams, Colombia hold an edge with a superior squad on paper with more technical players.

We believe Ghana will deploy the same low-block tactics against Colombia that they did against England and try to hit them on the counter. However, Colombia have the attacking flair to breach the Ghanaian defence, and we believe they should win this comfortably and reach the last 16.

Score Prediction: Colombia 2–0 Ghana
Venue: Kansas City Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri, USA
