UK-based goods manufacturer and retailer Reckitt has been announced as an Official Partner of the upcoming Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Reckitt’s two brands Dettol and Durex have been announced as the Games’ Official Hygiene Partner and Official Intimate Wellness Supplier respectively. Products from both brands will be available and provided at all fifteen venues in Birmingham, Coventry, Royal Leamington Spa, Sandwell and London, where the event will take place between July 28 and August 8. Dettol Pro Solutions will be providing hygiene protocol guidelines to all the athletes, fans and officials, while Durex will be providing the event with more than 100,000 condoms along with educational materials.
Katie Sadleir, Chief Executive at the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), commented:
“We are proud to welcome Reckitt to the team. As the official hygiene partner, Dettol’s industry-leading knowledge and expertise will help us deliver a successful and safe competition for athletes, officials and fans.”
Ian Reid, Birmingham 2022’s Chief Executive, added:
“It’s more important than ever before to ensure that Birmingham 2022 has all the necessary measures in place to help protect all participants and supporters. This new partnership with Reckitt will give us added reassurance as we look ahead to the Games in a few months’ time.”
