Indian professional racer Jehan Daruvala has announced that he will not be competing in this weekend’s Abu Dhabi race in Formula 2, thereby calling time on his Formula 2 career to focus wholly on Formula E.
Daruvala, who was signed by Maserati MSG Racing for their Formula E team earlier this year, has stated that he will now shift all his focus to Formula E. Having been racing for MP Motorsport in the current F2 season, he will be replaced by Franco Colapinto for the race in Abu Dhabi.
A member of the Red Bull Junior team since 2020, Daruvala made his Formula 3 debut in 2017 and then moved to Formula 2 with Carlin in 2020. In 2022, he signed with PREMA Racing before joining MP Motorsport earlier this year.
Daruvala leaves Formula 2 as a four-time race winner, with 18 podiums and a highest of third place in the Drivers’ Standings.
Daruvala made his announcement via social media.
