The Fédération Internationale de Football Association, the world football–governing body, has announced an extension of its long-time partnership with Visa.
The new agreement will take their partnership beyond the 20-year mark. Visa will continue on as a FIFA Partner as well as the Official Payment Technology Partner, providing fans with “innovative payment technologies and exclusive access opportunities” across global events such as the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2030 FIFA World Cup, and the FIFAe Finals, with FIFA youth tournaments also part of the agreement.
The San Francisco-headquartered American financial services provider has been a global sponsor of FIFA since 2007.
Romy Gai, FIFA Chief Business Officer, said:
“Visa has been an integral partner to FIFA for nearly two decades. This renewed agreement reflects a shared ambition to innovate, inspire and bring fans closer to the game on the biggest stages in world sport. We are proud to continue working alongside a partner that shares our vision for engaging fans, innovating, impacting communities and growing women’s football.”
Frank Cooper III, Visa Chief Marketing Officer, added:
“Visa and FIFA will expand the possibilities for rich fan experiences and player aspirations through our long-standing partnership. We both recognise that FIFA’s global tournaments not only create massive cultural moments, they generate commerce through ‘pop-up economies’ that allow Visa to help energise entire cities, driving growth and connecting communities.”
