Formula One inks new deal with beIN Sports

Formula One has announced a multi-year partnership with Qatar-owned state broadcaster beIN Sports. The partnership will kick off from the 2023 Formula One season and cover a total of ten regions: Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines.

The deal will see beIN Sports gain exclusive broadcasting rights for all Practice sessions, Qualifying sessions and races starting with the upcoming F1 season. Fans will be able to watch all the Formula One action in the aforementioned regions on the beIN SPORTS channels and also on the beIN Sports Connect live-streaming app.

Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at Formula One, commented:

Following a number of years of growing interest across Asia, we are delighted to announce this partnership with beIN SPORTS. As Formula 1 continues to attract new fans around the world, world class broadcasting is key, and this agreement will allow us to find new and innovative ways for our Asian fans to follow and engage with our sport.

Mike Kerr, Managing Director beIN Asia Pacific, added:

We are extremely excited to add Formula 1 as we continue to invest in strengthening our ever-expanding line-up of sports content for our viewers. With the rapid growth Formula 1 has experienced in recent years, we look forward to working alongside Formula 1 to broaden its fan base in our markets by bringing an unparalleled viewing experience across all screens.

Qatar, who hosted their first-ever Grand Prix in 2021, will see the Qatar Grand Prix return to the calendar in 2023 after missing out in 2022 due to the men’s football World Cup. Formula One and the organisers of the Qatar Grand Prix have also signed a ten-year deal to keep the race on the calendar.
