ICC Men’s T20 WC 2026 | Match 15: England vs West Indies | Preview and Prediction

In what is a repeat of the 2016 T20 World Cup Final, England and West Indies both will be looking to continue their respective winning starts to the tournament as they lock horns with each other in what promises to be a power-packed and fascinating Match Number 15 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Here is our Preview and Prediction for the game.

ICC Men’s T20 WC 2026 | Match 15: England vs West Indies | 19:00, 11 February

While both England and West Indies have indeed started their respective campaigns with victories, the manner of their wins could not have been more different than each other.

England were given an almighty scare by Nepal, who almost threatened to pull off the upset of the tournament in only the second day of the competition. Batting first, England put up 184 in their 20 overs, which was only possible courtesy of Will Jacks’ pyrotechnics towards the end that saw his side plunder 45 runs in their final 3 overs to put some gloss over what was a pretty middling batting performance up until that stage of the innings.

In response, they were put under the cosh severely as Nepal did not care for the reputation of their more illustrious counterparts as they fearlessly took the attack to them. Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer were ruthlessly taken to the cleaners as the England fielders began to feel the unthinkable happen right in front of their eyes.

It took a spectacular and peerless final over from Sam Curran to bring that sense of normalcy back to the English faces, but they knew deep down that they were given the scare of their lives out there in Mumbai.

There are a lot of areas that need work. Archer will have to massively improve his bowling, while Adil Rshid will be inclined to believe that the shellacking he got was just a one-off. The batting will have to contribute in a much better way than the last game, with more expected from the likes of Tom Banton and Sam Curran with the bat. Against a side like the West Indies, any slip-up and they have all the power and quality to make you pay.

Speaking of the West Indies, the Calypso boys began their tournament in good style, beating Scotland by a comfortable margin of 35 runs. While there were quite a few stars in the convincing victory, with Shimron Hetmyer’s blazing 64 and Jason Holder’s 3-wicket haul in his bowling gaining special mentions. But it was Romario Shepherd who was the Windies’ hero of the match, and not with his usual belligerence with the bat.

It was with the ball that Shepherd made an indelible mark in the contest. With Scotland rather evenly poised to make a good fist of the chase with 5 wickets still in hand, Shepherd caused absolute mayhem with the ball, taking a hat-trick in the 17th over and finishing the over with 4 wickets in the space of 5 deliveries, killing Scotland’s hopes of chasing down the total in devastating fashion. He finished with match figures of 5-20 in his 3 overs, and his welcome contribution with the ball will bode well for his side’s hopes of going further in the tournament.

Two power-packed sides who have some of the best T20 players in their ranks. This is a contest that is bound to cause fireworks, but in the battle of the power-hitters, we believe it is the West Indies who start off this game as favourites.

Fantasy 11: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (wk), Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Harry Brook, Will Jacks, Jason Holder ( c ), Romario Shepherd, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Gudakesh Motie.

Winners Prediction: West Indies.

Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
