IPL 2025 | Match 64: GT vs LSG | Preview and Predictions

The Gujarat Titans will be looking to seal their spot in the top two as they face the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 64 of the 2025 Indian Premier League season.

Here are our preview and predictions for the game.

Indian Premier League 2025 | Match 64: Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants | 19:30 IST, May 22

The Titans look like the best side in the tournament, and their position in the points table reflects just that. They’ve been the team to beat so far on the back of consistent, well-rounded performances.

In Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, GT have the two highest run-scorers in the league, with Sudharsan currently holding the Orange Cap, having crossed the 600-run mark. Their bowling attack has also been firing on all cylinders, with Prasidh Krishna leading the Purple Cap race and Mohammed Siraj acting as an able foil in the Powerplay.

GT’s last game had the perfect outcome as they ruthlessly dispatched the Delhi Capitals by a ten-wicket margin. Gill and Sudharsan made a mockery of the DC bowling attack, carting them all around the ground in an effortless display of batting.

On the other hand, it’s a case of a positive start frittering away. The Super Giants won five out of their first seven games only to spectacularly lose their way in the second leg.

Rishabh Pant has had one of the worst seasons in IPL history. The likes of Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram have lost their way after blistering starts, while the LSG bowling attack was never consistent to begin with on account of poor form as well as injuries.

In their previous match, LSG put up a pretty competitive 200+ total on the board, but a poor bowling performance allowed the SunRisers Hyderabad to not only won with ease, but also put an end to Lucknow’s playoff hopes.

The Titans enter this game as the overwhelming favourites. They’re not only the better side on paper, but also the better side on form.

Fantasy XI: Shubman Gill, B Sai Sudharsan (c), Nicholas Pooran (vc), Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram, Ayush Badoni, Rashid Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, R Sai Kishore

Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
Winner Prediction: Gujarat Titans
