IPL 2026 | Match 15: KKR vs LSG | Preview and Prediction

A massively struggling Kolkata Knight Riders will be desperate to have a performance that will change their dreary fortunes as they prepare for battle against the Lucknow Super Giants in what will be a fascinating Match Number 15 in the 2026 IPL Season.

Here is our Preview and Predictions for the game.

IPL 2026: Match 15: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giants | 19:30, 09 April

Things are not going well at all for the Knight Riders on the field. The batting has failed to click bar Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane to an extent. Cameron Green has failed to live up to his moniker of being the IPL’s Most expensive player with the bat, and the bowling attack has been taken to the cleaners with alarming regularity.

Though the sample size is pretty small given that they have only played 2 full games ( the 3rd game was rained out without a ball being bowled), head coach Abhishek Nayar has a multitude of issues that need to be addressed in order for the side to gain some impetus in the league sooner rather than later.

In the rare positives that they have, Finn Allen, Ajinkya Rahane, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi have been their bright spots with the bat. Anukul Roy has been electric in the field, and Rinku has shone in flashes.

Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, have registered their first victory of the tournament, and that was enough to bring tears in the eyes of their owner. Following their loss to the Delhi Capitals, it felt like they were meandering to another loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad, until Rishabh Pant decided that he will be the one to take his side to victory.

For LSG, things are a little more balanced as far as team dynamics go. Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan form the crux of a formidable bowling attack that is well supplemented by Prince Yadav, Digvesh Rathi, Avesh Khan, and M Siddharth. Mitch Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Rishabh Pant have all managed to get a few runs up their belt, and they seem to be getting towards fluency on the whole as a team.

However, they will be hoping that Nicholas Pooran finds his bearings quickly given he started off with low scores in this season. With the side so close to getting their bearings right, Pooran getting back to his best would take this LSG side to a whole new level.

The weather could play spoilsport given that there is rain expected at Kolkata. The hope is that the weather gods relent and that we have a nice, full game of cricket at our hands.

With both the sides’ form and team in consideration, we believe that the Lucknow Super Giants will be the favourites to win this match. With the overall head-to-head also favouring LSG, it seems to be a pretty safe decision to make.

Fantasy 11: Finn Allen ( c ), Mitchell Marsh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant (wk), Nicholas Pooran, Anukul Roy, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav, Digvesh Rathi, Mohsin Khan. Impact Player- Vaibhav Arora.

Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Winners Prediction: Lucknow Super Giants.
