This article contains information regarding the organisations enjoying a strong branding presence as the official kit suppliers for the national teams participating in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
American sportswear giant Nike and New Zealand Football have been partners since 2003, when the two signed an initial four-year contract to focus on the development of young Kiwis through the Small Whites Campaign as well as supporting the men’s and the women’s senior national football teams.
Since then, there have been several contract renewals between the two parties, with the latest contract running out by the end of 2023.
Nike and the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) have been long-standing partners since 2014. As per the terms of the deal, Nike serves as the official kit supplier to the Norway senior (men’s and women’s) and youth teams.
In 2020, the two renewed their partnership until 2026. Apart from being its national teams’ official kit supplier, Nike also works with the NFF on a number of other activities, including the Nike Women’s Football Programme, which supports the development of women’s football in Norway.
German sportswear giant Adidas and the Philippines women’s national football team signed a four-year partnership agreement in February 2023, making Adidas the official outfitter of the team.
As part of the deal, Adidas provides the Filipinas with kits, boots and equipment for their senior and youth setups, while also working with the Philippine Football Federation to develop football in the country.
German sportswear and accessories manufacturer Puma and the Switzerland Football Association have been long-standing partners since 1998.
Over the years, this association has seen many extensions, most notably, the long-term contract extension agreed by the two parties in 2011, which is set to keep Puma as the Switzerland Football Association’s official technical partner and kit supplier until 2024.
In 2009, Nike and Football Australia announced the signing of a nine-year partnership deal.
As per the terms of the deal, Nike serves as the official kit supplier as well as provider of footwear and equipment to the Australia men’s, women’s and youth teams.
In 2012, Nike and Football Australia signed a new contract extension, set to run until 2024.
In December 2018, Canada Soccer announced joining hands with American sportswear manufacturer Nike as its national teams’ official footwear, apparel and equipment supplier from January 2019.
The Nigerian Football Federation and Nike first joined hands in 2015, having signed a four-year deal. In 2018, the deal was renewed for four more years, while the most recent contract extension will see Nike sponsor Nigeria’s national team kits till 2026.
As per the deal, Nike designs and manufactures the kits for the men’s, women’s and youth national football teams of Nigeria.
British sportswear company Castore signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with the Football Association of Ireland in March 2023. As per the terms of the deal, Castore serves as the official kit supplier and official retail partner to the Republic of Ireland national football teams.
Following the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Adidas was announced as the new official kit supplier of the Costa Rican Football Federation. The deal is set to run through 2026, keeping the 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind.
Adidas has been associated with the Japanese Football Association since April 1999.
In 2014, the two parties signed an eight-year extension agreement reportedly worth US$140 million. In 2021, the two parties announced the signing of a new multi-year contract extension. Although the length and value of the latest contract were not disclosed, it is believed that the deal would be valid at least till the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The partnership deal between Adidas and the Spanish Football Federation is one of the longest-running sponsorship deals in the history of football. It began in 1981 and lasted till 1983 before French company Le Coq Sportif took over from Adidas from 1984 to 1990. Since 1991, however, Adidas has been the only kit supplier of the Spanish national football teams.
In 2019, the two parties signed a new 11-year contract extension, keeping Adidas as Spain’s official kit supplier until 2030.
Since 2018, the Football Association of Zambia has been using its in-house brand KoPa as the official kit manufacturer for its national football teams at all levels.
In January 2015, Nike and the Chinese Football Association announced the signing of a 12-year partnership deal, with the former becoming the official kit supplier of all Chinese national football teams, including men’s, women’s and youth teams. Reportedly, the deal is worth US$16 million.
Danish sportswear brand Hummel has been the official kit supplier of the Danish Football Federation since 2016, when the two signed an eight-year-long contract extension deal, keeping Hummel on board until 2024.
Hummel previously sponsored the Danish Football Federation from 1979 to 2004 as well, as one of its technical partners and kit supplier.
Nike has been serving as the official kit supplier of the Football Association (FA) since 2013, after replacing the domestic brand Umbro.
In December 2016, Nike and the FA signed a 12-year extension to their existing deal, which kicked in from 2018, with the total package reportedly worth an estimated £400 million, making it the biggest sponsorship deal in FA history.
The Haitian Football Federation announced the signing of a multi-year partnership deal with Colombian sportswear company Saeta in 2013. Reportedly worth an estimated US$1 million, the deal saw Saeta provided the Haitian national football teams with kit and equipment worth US$200,000 annually between 2013 and 2018.
In 2018, Saeta and the Haitian Football Federation renewed their partnership, though the financial terms or the length of the deal were not disclosed.
Nike has been the official kit supplier to the Dutch national teams since 1996 after replacing Italian rival brand Lotto.
In 2014, the Royal Dutch Football Association agreed to sign a 12-year extension deal with Nike, keeping the American brand as its official kit supplier until 2026. As per the terms of the deal, Nike provides the playing kit, training kit and off-field apparel for the Dutch national teams across all age groups.
Nike and the Portuguese Football Federation have a long-standing sponsorship deal that began in 1997 and is set to expire in December 2024. It is one of the longest-running kit sponsorship deals in international football.
In June 2023, it was announced that Puma had won the bid to replace Nike as the official kit supplier of the Portugal national football teams from January 2025 onwards.
Nike has been the official kit supplier to US Soccer since 1995. In November 2021, the two announced the signing of a ten-year extension deal, which came into effect in 2022. As per reports, this is the longest, and most lucrative deal signed by Nike.
Under the terms of the current deal, Nike will continue to be the official kit and equipment supplier to the US Soccer national teams until 2032.
Thai sportswear brand Grand Sport became the official kit supplier of the Vietnamese Football Association in 2015 after signing a five-year sponsorship deal. Since then, this deal has seen many renewals, with the two parties having signed a one-year extension in December 2022.
As per the terms of the deal, Grand Sport provides all Vietnam national teams with matchday and training kits as well as sportswear and equipment.
Nike signed on with the Brazilian Football Confederation as its official kit sponsor in 1997 and has held the role ever since.
The current deal between the two parties is set to expire in 2026 and is reportedly worth an estimated US$50 million per year, making it one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals in international football.
Nike replaced Adidas as the official kit supplier for the French Football Federation in 2011. In 2016, the two announced the signing of an eight-year contract extension, which came into effect in 2018. As per reports, the deal is worth an estimated €50 million per year.
Adidas signed a three-year partnership deal with the Jamaican Football Federation in January 2023. As per the terms of the deal, Adidas provides the Jamaican national football teams across all age groups with kits, apparel and equipment.
In September 2022, the Panamanian Football Federation signed a four-year partnership deal with American fitness and footwear brand Reebok. As per the deal, Reebok serves as the official kit supplier for the Panama senior men’s, women’s and youth national football teams.
The Argentine Football Federation and Adidas have been partners since 1979. In 2011, the two signed a ten-year contract extension that kicked off in 2012 and was valid until December 2022. Although there’s no information about a contract renewal as of yet, the two parties are still working as partners.
Adidas served as the official technical partner of the Swedish Football Association from 1974 to 2003. Following ten years with English sportswear brand Umbro (from 2003 to 2013), the Swedish Football Association re-signed Adidas as its official kit supplier and technical partner in 2014.
The South African Football Association signed a five-year partnership deal with Le Coq Sportif in 2020, resulting in the latter becoming the former’s official kit supplier until 2025.
As per the terms of the deal, the French company is to provide the South Africa national football teams across all age groups with matchday and training kits, apparel and equipment.
The Italian Football Federation announced in March 2022 that Adidas would take over from Puma as the official Technical Sponsor of all its national teams as part of a long-term partnership agreement that officially came into effect in January 2023.
Adidas has been the official kit supplier of the Colombian Football Federation since 2011.
In September 2021, the two parties signed an extension agreement set to run until 2030. The deal is reportedly worth an estimated US$75 million in total.
Adidas has been the official technical partner and kit supplier of the German Football Federation since 1954, which is one of the longest-running sponsorship deals in international football. The two last signed a contract extension in 2018, which is set to run until 2026.
Nike has been an official partner of the Korean Football Association since 1996. Since then, this deal has seen a number of contract extensions, the most recent of which was signed in 2020 when the two parties agreed to a 12-year contract extension deal.
The current deal, set to run until 2032, is reportedly worth an estimated ?240 billion (South Korean won).
Puma has been the official kit supplier of the Moroccan Football Federation since 2018. Although the length and the financial details of this deal were never disclosed, it is believed to be a long-term agreement.
As per the terms of the deal, Puma is to provide matchday and training kits, apparel and equipment to all the national football teams of Morocco across all age groups.
