Lisbon to host BLAST Premier Spring Final

BLAST Premier has announced that its Spring Final will be held at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. The Spring Finals will be held from June 15 to June 19, 2022, with eight of the top CS:GO teams around the world fighting it out for the US$425,000 prize money and a chance to qualify for the BLAST Premier World Final, which will be held later this year in December.
This will be the second time Lisbon will be hosting a BLAST Premier event, having previously hosted the BLAST Pro Series in 2018 at the Altice Arena. The Spring Finals this time will be held behind closed doors for the opening three days, while the remainder of the competition will be held in front of a 6,000-strong audience.

Six out of the eight teams that will take part in the Spring Finals have already been finalised. The six confirmed teams are: Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, OG, G2 Esports, Team Vitality and BIG. The remaining two spots, which will be filled up by one European and one North American team, will be determined at the Spring Showdown that will kick-off from April 27 and last till May 1, 2022.
The Spring Final itself will see the eight teams divided into two groups, and the teams will take part in a double-elimination format, which will see the top three teams from each group qualify for the playoffs.

Charlotte Kenny, Managing Director of BLAST Premier, commented:
“We are delighted to announce our return to Lisbon nearly four years after the BLAST Pro Series in 2018. Our previous experience with the Portuguese Counter-Strike community was incredible, so this is the perfect setting for BLAST Premier’s first arena event of 2022.
“Altice Arena, one of Europe’s biggest indoor venues, is a great place to welcome eight of the world’s leading CS:GO teams and our fantastic fanbase. We can’t wait to be back and to showcase what makes BLAST Premier so special.”
