British Formula One team McLaren Racing have announced a new partnership with global financial services firm Goldman Sachs. The multi-year partnership will see Goldman Sachs join as an Official Partner of the McLaren team, starting with the ongoing 2022 F1 season.
The partnership will see the two parties work together towards McLaren’s net zero goals along with their shared beliefs of addressing social, environmental and economic impacts. Goldman Sachs will help McLaren speed up the path towards a more sustainable future. In 2019, McLaren had announced their goal of having a GHG footprint by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2040.
The partnership will also see the Goldman Sachs branding feature on the McLaren race cars, starting from the British Grand Prix 2022.
Speaking about the new partnership, Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing, commented:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Goldman Sachs, a global institution that shares McLaren Racing’s own values in recognising the importance of sustainability. As we work to achieve our bold long-term goals, Goldman Sachs’ support will provide an invaluable boost in fast-tracking our progress.
“Goldman Sachs will be a key partner in our sustainability journey, and we look forward to collaborating to make a positive contribution to our team, communities, and the wider world.”
Fiona Carter, CMO, Goldman Sachs, added:
“Goldman Sachs and McLaren share an ambition to accelerate progress for the fans, our clients and in our communities. Together we’re excited to see what’s possible when we push our collective technical and intellectual expertise to the limit.”
