Pat Fry joins Williams Racing

Williams Racing have announced Pat Fry as their new Chief Technical Officer, with effect from November 2023. Fry recently parted ways with Alpine, where he held the same role. 

Fry comes with a wealth of experience, having been in the sport since 1987, starting out with Benetton. He moved to McLaren in 1993, where he held the roles of Race Engineer and Chief Engineer of Race Development till 2010. Fry joined Ferrari in 2010 as the Head of Race Track Engineering, also serving as Director of Engineering later on. 

Fry had a one-year stint with Manor Racing between 2016 and 2017 as an Engineering Consultant before re-joining McLaren as their Engineering Director in 2018. Fry moved to Renault in 2020 as their Chief Technical Officer and remained at that role even through the team’s transition to Alpine.
