Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 11: Preview and Predictions

The Premier League returns this weekend after European action happening midweek. Gameweek 11 will bring some tasty encounters – Spurs will host the Red Devils, the Black Cats will welcome league leaders Arsenal to the Stadium of Light with the gameweek ending in a Super Sunday fixture between Manchester City and Liverpool.

Let’s take a look at all the preview and predictions from this gameweek –

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

A confident Spurs will host an in-form Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Spurs won their midweek UCL game comfortably thrashing Danish Champions Copenhagen even after going down to 10 men. United on the other hand are out of European competition this season and have a fully rested squad. Man United last played in the league and came away with a draw against Nottingham Forest.

Spurs have been decimated with injuries with long-term injuries to a couple of players. Apart from that Spurs have Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Mohammed Kudus all doubtful for this game. Man United’s injury woes are over with only Lisandro Martinez on the sidelines and due to come back soon.

Spurs have been really dismal at home this season, losing to Chelsea as well last weekend. Also, United’s forward line has started to link up well. However, Spurs’ recent win in the Champions League will give them a lot of confidence and they do have the players that can trouble the Man United backline too. I do believe this could be an entertaining draw.

Score Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Manchester United

Everton vs Fulham

Everton will face Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend. Both teams will go into this game with fully rested squads as they are not in any European competitions.

Everton drew against Sunderland last weekend while Fulham defeated a hapless Wolves 3-0 – their first win in the last five encounters. Everton too hasn’t been in the best of form, only having won one game in their last five fixtures.

From an injury perspective, Everton have the in-form Iliman Ndiaye out along with Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson. Fulham’s injury woes are almost over as they only have Antonee Robinson on the sidelines now.

Everton is a formidable opponent to play at home and Fulham hasn’t been in the best of form. Their head-to-head record in the last few years has also been close so it’s difficult to call this. The Fulham front line is a definite threat for Everton and even though the Toffees are playing at home, the Cottagers can breach their defence. My prediction for this game will be a close win for the visitors.

Score Prediction: Everton 1-2 Fulham

West Ham United vs Burnley

The Hammers will host the Clarets at the London Stadium this weekend.

In the previous gameweek, West Ham surprised the Magpies with a great performance, beating them 3-1 while the Clarets lost 2-0 to league leaders Arsenal. Burnley came into the Arsenal game on the back of two straight wins and this was a difficult fixture for them. West Ham on the other hand, went into the Newcastle game with three losses on the bounce.

West Ham will miss the services of Konstantinos Mavropanos, Niclas Füllkrug and Oliver Scarles while Burnley will be without Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer and Zeki Amdouni.

While the Hammers have an advantage playing at home, their form this season has been absolutely abysmal but the latest win against the Magpies will have given them a lot of confidence. Burnley aren’t pushovers either and have shown in previous games that they can beat the teams in the lower half of the table. This could be a really tight affair that could end in a narrow win for hosts.

Score Prediction: West Ham United 2-1 Burnley

Sunderland vs Arsenal

The Black Cats have been a revelation this season, having performed beyond expectations so far but they will be up against a hugely challenging opponent in the Gunners.

Sunderland have been in top form losing only one game in their last five and drew their last game against Everton. Arsenal have just been the best team in the league and are on an amazing run of form with their defence looking impenetrable.

On the injury front, both teams have a long list of injured players. Sunderland has Omar Alderete, Ajibola Alese, Dennis Cirkin, Leo Hjelde, Romain Mundle and Habib Diarra unavailable for this game while Arsenal has Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz out injured with second-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizalabalaga unavailable due to personal reasons.

Sunderland have been nearly unbeatable at home but the league leaders are a different proposition. Arsenal hasn’t conceded a single goal in all competitions the entire last month. Also, they are able to find goals upfront and just look unbeatable. This is going to be a scrappy game but nothing that the Gunners can’t handle. For me, this game will end in a comfortable win for Arsenal based on their form and confidence.

Score Prediction: Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

After the disappointing draw against Azerbaijani club Qarabag FK in the UCL midweek, Chelsea will be looking to get going in the league against a struggling Wolves at home.

Chelsea did bag a narrow win against Spurs last weekend but couldn’t grab the three points in the UCL against a relatively easy opponent. Wolves on the other hand are looking down the barrel, sitting bottom of the league. They are on a four-game losing streak and were defeated by Fulham last weekend.

From a personnel perspective, Chelsea has Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, and Dario Essugo out injured while Wolves has Emmanuel Agbadou suspended with Matt Doherty and Rodrigo Gomes unavailable for this game.

Considering the problems that Wolves are going through, the Blues are the overwhelming favourites for this game. Though these two sides met in the Carabao Cup which ended 4-3 in favour of Chelsea but Enzo Maresca was playing a highly rotated side in that game, I don’t see Wolves having a similar game. Also, playing at home, I don’t see Chelsea dropping any points in this game and hence it feels like the Wolves’ losing streak might continue this weekend.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth

Aston Villa will host a very dangerous looking Cherries side to Villa Park this weekend. Though Villa suffered a defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the league last weekend, they returned to winning ways with a comfortable win against Maccabi Tel Aviv  in the UEFA Europa League midweek. Villa have seen a decent run of form with four wins in their last five PL encounters. Bournemouth also lost to Man City at the Etihad after an unbeaten run in their last four fixtures.

Both Villa and Bournemouth have a few injury concerns. Villa will miss Tyrone Mings and Andres Garcia while the Cherries have Enes Ünal and Tyler Adams out for this fixture.

Looking at both teams, Villa are in better form and also have home advantage. The Cherries are defensively susceptible but going forward they are a massive threat especially the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Justin Kluivert and Eli Junior Kroupi. Villa will have to watch out for them. The Villans also have issues upfront with main man Ollie Watkins out of form. This is going to be a very competitive game but I have a feeling the Cherries might grab the three points.

Score Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Bournemouth

Crystal Palace vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Crystal Palace will host the Seagulls at Selhurst Park this weekend.

Palace are back to winning ways with three straight wins in all competitions and most recently winning their UEFA Conference League game against Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. The Seagulls on the other hand, won against Leeds comfortably last weekend and looked their threatening best. However, playing the Eagles at their home is no mean feat.

Palace still have a few players missing with Caleb Kporha, Cheick Doucouré and Edward Nketiah out injured. The Seagulls have a long injury list with Kaoru Mitoma, Adam Webster, Jack Hinshelwood, James Milner, Brajan Gruda, Joel Veltman and Solly March all sidelined.

Crystal Palace have a slight edge as they almost have a full strength squad to choose from while Brighton are missing a fair few. Playing at home too, Palace will have crowd support and a better defensive structure. I believe Palace could concede a goal but they will outscore Brighton to win this encounter.

Score Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United

A struggling Nottingham Forest will face fellow strugglers and newly promoted Leeds United at the Forest Ground this weekend.

A season that has seen Forest sack two managers by October speaks a lot about their performances. The Forest results have improved slightly as they broke the losing streak with a draw against Manchester United last weekend and a recent draw with Sturm Graz in the Europa League. Leeds United isn’t faring much better either with three losses in their last five fixtures.

From an injury perspective, Forest are suffering with Ola Aina, Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Dilane Bakwa, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Douglas Luiz and Angus Gunn all injured and unavailable. Leeds United have been lucky with only one player injured currently. Wilfried Gnonto will miss this game due to a calf injury.

From a form and team perspective, Forest are still a better team than Leeds United and have found some semblance of form and also look better defensively. I believe the Tricky Trees will end this PL weekend with the three points.

Score Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Leeds United

Brentford vs Newcastle United

The Bees will host the Magpies at the GTech Community Stadium this weekend.

The Bees had been on a three-game winning streak before they lost to Crystal Palace last weekend while Newcastle were in top form as well before being upset by the Hammers last weekend. Also, Brentford will be much fresher as they didn’t play midweek. Though Newcastle did win their game against Athletic Club quite comfortably in the UCL midweek.

For this game, the Bees will only have Benjamin Arthur missing while the Magpies will be without Yoane Wissa and Tino Livramento.

If we look at the two teams, on paper Newcastle is definitely a superior team but they have been poor away from home and the Bees can definitely sting at home as they proved against Man United and Liverpool previously this season. This looks like another tough away fixture for the Magpies and they may end up losing this one as well.

Score Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Newcastle United

Manchester City vs Liverpool

The most awaited fixture of the weekend – this is going to be a mouthwatering contest at the Etihad.

Both teams won their UCL fixtures this week with Liverpool narrowly defeating LaLiga giants Real Madrid, City thrashed Borussia Dortmund. Last season, Liverpool came away with all three points from this fixture but their form this season hasn’t been great as they lost five games on the bounce last month but they have improved in the last two games. City on the other hand have been really consistent with Erling Haaland in exceptional form.

As for injuries, City will miss the services of Mateo Kova?i? while Liverpool has a fair few missing with Alisson Becker, Jeremie Frimpong, Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni and Stefan Bajcetic all still out injured.

Both teams like to play attacking football and that is why this has been a massively entertaining fixture over the years. There might not be too many goals in this fixture as both teams have improved defensively over the past few games and hence don’t see too many errors leading to goals.

This really is a tough one to call as both teams are evenly matched. City do have home advantage though and Liverpool’s record at the Etihad isn’t really great but I still believe that this could be a tight affair and might end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Manchester City 1-1 Liverpool
