Premier League 2025/26: Gameweek 35 Preview and Predictions

With four rounds of Premier League fixtures to go, the title race is at a critical juncture, with the top two going neck and neck, while the relegation scrap has got more tense.

Though the race for top five has been more or less decided, unless one of Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Man United messes up badly and gives the chasing pack a chance.

Here, we present our previews and predictions for all matches of Gameweek 35 of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Leeds United vs Burnley

Leeds United aren’t out of the woods yet and have just a six-point gap from the bottom three. Hence, they need to win this game to ensure top-flight survival. As for their opponents, the Clarets are already preparing for life in the Championship, with their relegation confirmed.

The Whites are unbeaten in their last five league games, with three draws and two wins, one of which came against Man United at Old Trafford. They did lose to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals, but drew away at Bournemouth in the league before that. Burnley, on the other hand, are without a win in their last five games, having managed only one point from a possible 15. Their most recent defeat came against Man City, though it was only a narrow 1–0 loss.

For this game, Leeds will be without Ilia Gruev, who is out for the season with a meniscus injury. Burnley, meanwhile, haven’t been so lucky with injuries, and a couple of their players have been out with long-term issues. Axel Tuanzebe, Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen, Hannibal Mejbri, and Zeki Amdouni are all unavailable for this game.

Leeds have secured some positive results lately, and with almost a fully fit squad available to Daniel Farke, this is a game they should win comfortably and ensure survival. Burnley could score here, as the Leeds defence has been known to concede goals, but it should still be a comfortable win for the hosts.

Score Prediction: Leeds 3–1 Burnley

Brentford vs West Ham United

The Bees were up in sixth place a few weeks back, but a string of poor results has thrown them down in ninth. However, they are only two points off sixth-placed Brighton, and a win could catapult them back into European places.

West Ham, in contrast, have been abysmal and are still in danger of relegation, with only two points separating them from 18th-placed Spurs. They will be desperate to bag all three points and increase their gap from the bottom three.

If we look at the recent form of both teams, Brentford have four draws and a loss in their last five outings, while West Ham have two wins, two draws, and a defeat in their last five encounters.

Brentford have a few injury concerns, with Vitaly Janelt, Jordan Henderson, Rico Henry, and Fábio Carvalho out of contention for this game. In contrast, West Ham only have one player out: Lukasz Fabianski.

Brentford have had a decent home record this season and produced results against the likes of Liverpool and Man United. However, it’s not going to be an easy fixture playing relegation-threatened West Ham, who will go all guns blazing. Both teams are good on set pieces and could be dangerous in those situations. We believe this will be a tight affair and end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Brentford 1–1 West Ham

Newcastle United vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe is under massive pressure, with his team having been abysmal since their exit from the Champions League. The Seagulls, on the other hand, have picked up form at the right time and are currently in sixth place with a chance to qualify for Europe.

The Magpies have the second worst form after Chelsea in the league, with four defeats and one win out of their last five encounters. Brighton, in contrast, are on an unbeaten run with four wins and a draw from their last five encounters. The south coast side defeated Chelsea last midweek, while Newcastle lost to Arsenal at the weekend.

Injury-wise, the hosts will miss Emil Krafth, Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento, and Fabian Schär, while Brighton could be without Adam Webster, Diego Gómez, James Milner, Solly March, and Stefanos Tzimas.

For a side that qualified for the Champions League last season, Newcastle have been underwhelming, to say the least. Injuries haven’t helped them either, but they have been far too inconsistent and have even lost a lot of home games this season. On the basis of form, Brighton could grab a victory at St James’ Park, but with Newcastle midfielders Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton set to return to the starting XI, we believe a draw is likely at the end of what should be an end-to-end affair.

Score Predictions: Newcastle 2–2 Brighton

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Sunderland

Wolves have already been relegated, so this game doesn’t hold much importance for them except for the fact that they will want to give their fans something to smile about with a home win. Sunderland, meanwhile, come into this game feeling hurt, having suffered a 5–0 thrashing at home courtesy of Nottingham Forest.

Wolves are without a win in their last five, with four defeats and a solitary draw that came against Brentford. The Black Cats, on the other hand, have suffered two straight defeats now and have two wins and three defeats in their last five outings.

Injury-wise, Wolves will miss Sam Johnstone, Ladislav Krejci, and Enso González for this game, while Sunderland will be without Simon Moore, Bertrand Traoré, Jocelin Ta Bi, Nilson Angulo, and Romain Mundle.

Both teams have been on a losing streak, but Wolves have fared worse, and the difference could be the motivation. While Wolves are already relegated, Sunderland are just three points off the European spots and will want to finish as strongly as possible. The Wearside team also have more match-winners in their ranks and are defensively more solid — the Forest game being a rare aberration.

We believe Sunderland will come away with a win here, though it should be a tight and scrappy affair.

Score Prediction: Wolves 1–2 Sunderland

Arsenal vs Fulham

On Saturday, the Gunners could increase their lead at the top to six points and put pressure on Man City, who will play Everton away on Sunday.

Arsenal came away with a draw against Atlético Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie and look to be in control ahead of the second leg. Fulham, meanwhile, secured a massive three points by defeating Aston Villa at Craven Cottage last weekend.

Arsenal defeated Newcastle United at home in the league last time out, returning to winning ways after two straight defeats. Fulham, meanwhile, have had mixed results in their last five outings and have been struck by inconsistency this season. The Cottagers have two wins, two draws, and a defeat in their last five and are currently sitting in tenth place.

From a personnel-availability standpoint, Arsenal could be without Jurriën Timber, Kai Havertz, and Mikel Merino, while Fulham could miss Kenny Tete, Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, and Kevin.

Arsenal’s home record has been quite superb this season; they’ve only lost two games at the Emirates so far. In the reverse fixture, Arsenal defeated Fulham at the Cottage. The only disadvantage Arsenal have here is that they played midweek, while Fulham have a fully rested squad. However, we believe Arsenal are a sufficiently stronger side and should win this game comfortably.

Score Prediction: Arsenal 2–0 Fulham

Manchester United vs Liverpool

English football’s most iconic rivalry has delivered us some memorable matches over the years. This fixture, however, will only take the winning side as high as third.

Though Liverpool have gotten the better of United over the past few seasons, this season has been a difficult one for the Merseyside Reds, as they have struggled massively in the league and also lost the reverse fixture at Anfield this season. However, Liverpool have improved their form over the last few games and have now won three straight games after a draw and a defeat.

As for United, they have improved a lot from last year when they finished the season in an underwhelming 15th place. Their recent form is similar to Liverpool’s, with three wins, a draw, and a defeat in their last five. Their most recent result was a win at home against Brentford.

Both teams have been struck by injuries to key players, though Liverpool have been very unlucky with some long-term absences this season. Man United will miss Luke Shaw, Matheus Cunha, and Matthijs de Ligt for this game, with Lisandro Martínez suspended, while Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Stefan Bajcetic, and Giovanni Leoni.

Old Trafford isn’t an easy place to go to, but Liverpool have done well there in recent years. Having said that, United do have a decent front line and could cause the vulnerable Liverpool defence a few problems. We believe this would be a tight and scrappy game that ends in a draw.

Score Prediction: Man United 1–1 Liverpool

Everton vs Manchester City

After two consecutive defeats, Everton will be keen to return to winning ways this weekend. As for their opponents, it’s vital for Man City to win this game as they wouldn’t want to fall behind in the title race.

Everton have three defeats, a win, and a draw from their last five, while City have two draws and three wins from theirs. City’s last win arrived against Burnley in the league, while they also reached the FA Cup final by beating Southampton in the semis. The Cityzens are currently three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.

For this game, Everton will be without Beto, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Jack Grealish, while City will miss Joško Gvardiol, Rúben Dias, and Rodri.

Everton haven’t been unbeatable at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium and have suffered quite a few defeats in their debut season here. Pep Guardiola’s City are a very experienced and mentally strong side, especially when it comes to title races, and we believe they will secure all three points against the Toffees in this game to keep the pressure on Arsenal.

Score Prediction: Everton 0–2 Man City

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

The Cherries are currently placed seventh and will be keen to win here in order to qualify for Europe next season. After two massive away wins against Arsenal and Newcastle United, the south coast side drew against Leeds United at home last time out.

As for Crystal Palace, their last outing in the league resulted in a defeat against Liverpool. However, they have given themselves a great chance to reach the Conference League final by defeating Shakhtar Donetsk away with a 3–1 scoreline in the first leg.

From an injury perspective, Bournemouth will be without Julio Soler, Lewis Cook, Matai Akinmboni, and Justin Kluivert, while Palace will miss Cheick Doucouré, Eddie Nketiah, and Evann Guessand.

Bournemouth are a very exciting team and will definitely be a handful for the Eagles with their free-flowing, attractive brand of football. The other advantage that the hosts have is that they didn’t play midweek; Palace will definitely have tired legs and will have half an eye on next week’s second leg.

However, Palace remain a side with great defensive structure and scoring against them is challenging. Hence, this is likely to be a tight encounter that may end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Bournemouth 1–1 Palace

Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur

Having been defeated at the weekend by Fulham and then Nottingham Forest in the Europa League semi-final first leg, Villa will be eager to return to winning ways against Spurs to move closer to ensuring a top-five finish and seal Champions League football for next season. As for their opponents, Spurs finally breathed a huge sigh of relief last weekend after beating Wolves. However, they are still in 18th place, two points behind West Ham, desperate for a win.

Villa have two defeats, two wins, and a draw from their last five league games, while Spurs have two draws, two defeats, and a win from theirs.

Spurs’ problems with injuries have been compounded, with Xavi Simons the latest to suffer a long-term ACL injury and joining Dominic Solanke on the sidelines, with the Englishman set to be out with a muscle injury. The rest of their injury list comprises Guglielmo Vicario, Mohammed Kudus, Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Matar Sarr, and Wilson Odobert. As for the Villans, they will only miss Boubacar Kamara and Alysson for this game.

Beating Villa at home is a very challenging task, and Spurs’ recent form doesn’t fill one with too much confidence. The only thing going in their favour is the fact that Villa’s midweek fixture might have left them with some tired legs. We believe this would be a tight, scrappy affair, but Unai Emery’s men should manage to come out on top.

Score Prediction: Villa 1–0 Spurs

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest

Chelsea are going through the worst run of form in the league, having lost every single one of their last five league fixtures. The only positive in this poor season for them is that they are through to the FA Cup final and have a shot at silverware.

As for Nottingham Forest, they have shown a massive upturn in form and are unbeaten in their last five games with two draws and three wins. In doing so, they have widened the gap between themselves and the bottom three to five points. However, they need to keep up their form to ensure Premier League survival. Forest also beat Villa in the Europa League semi-final first leg at home earlier this week, but that tie is still very much open as they only have a 1–0 advantage.

Injury-wise, Chelsea will have Jamie Gittens, Filip Jörgensen, Reece James, Levi Colwill, and Estêvão unavailable for this game. Forest have a lot of players missing too, with Dan Ndoye, Jair Cunha, Murillo, John Victor, Nicolò Savona, Willy Boly, and Callum Hudson-Odoi all out injured.

The Blues have been inconsistent both home and away this season. If we look at the recent form of both teams, this could be another defeat for Chelsea. However, the Tricky Trees will have some tired legs, having played midweek, and the win against Leeds in the FA Cup would, in turn, have raised Chelsea’s morale. Hence, we believe Chelsea will perform better and secure all three points in this one.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 2–1 Forest
