Premier League 2025/26: Gameweek 35 Preview and Predictions

With four rounds of Premier League fixtures to go, the title race is at a critical juncture, with the top two going neck and neck, while the relegation scrap has got more tense.

Though the race for top five has been more or less decided, unless one of Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Man United messes up badly and gives the chasing pack a chance.

Here, we present our previews and predictions for all matches of Gameweek 35 of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Leeds United vs Burnley

Leeds United isn’t out of the woods yet as they have a six-point gap from the bottom three and hence they need to win this game to ensure top-flight survival.

As for their opponents, the Clarets are looking down at life in the championship next season with relegation almost certain.

The Whites are unbeaten in their last five league games with three draws and two wins, one of which came against Man United at Old Trafford. They did lose to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final but drew away to Bournemouth in the league before that.

Burnley on the other hand is without a win in their last five games, getting only a point from 15 possible points. Their most recent defeat came to Man City but it was only a narrow 1-0 win for the Sky Blues.

Leeds United will be without Ilia Gruev who is out for the season with a meniscus injury. Burnley haven’t been so lucky with injuries as a couple of their players have been out with long-term issues. Axel Tuanzebe, Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen, Hannibal Mejbri and Zeki Amdouni are all unavailable for this game.

Leeds have secured some positive results lately and with almost a fully fit squad available to Daniel Farke, this is a game they should win comfortably and ensure survival. Burnley could score as the Leeds’ defence has been known to concede goals but it should be a comfortable win for the hosts at Elland Road.

Score Prediction: Leeds 3–1 Burnley

Brentford vs West Ham United

The Bees were up in sixth place a few weeks back but a string of poor results has thrown them down in ninth. However, they are only two points off sixth-placed Brighton and a win could catapult them back into European places.

The Hammers in contrast have been abysmal and are still in danger of relegation with only two points off 18th-placed Spurs and they will be desperate to bag the three points and lengthen the gap with the bottom three.

If we look at the recent form of both teams, Brentford have four draws and a loss in their last five while West Ham has two wins, two draws and a defeat in their last five encounters.

Brentford has a few injury concerns with Vitaly Janelt, Jordan Henderson, Rico Henry and Fabio Carvalho out of contention for this game. In contrast, West Ham only have one player out in Lukasz Fabianski.

Brentford has a decent home record this season and have produced results against the likes of Liverpool and Man United at the GTech Community Stadium. Hence, it’s not going to be an easy fixture playing a relegation-threatened West Ham as they would go all guns blazing. Both teams are good on set-pieces and corners and could be dangerous in such situations. However, we believe this would be a tight affair, ending in a draw.

Score Prediction: Brentford 1–1 West Ham

Newcastle United vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Newcastle head-coach Eddie Howe is under massive pressure with the club being in abysmal form since their exit from the Champions League Round of 16. The Seagulls on the other hand have picked up form at the right time and are currently sitting in sixth place with a chance to qualify for European competitions.

The Magpies probably have the second worst form after Chelsea with four defeats and one win out of their last five encounters. Brighton in contrast is on an unbeaten run with four wins and a draw from their last five encounters. The South coast side defeated Chelsea last midweek while Newcastle lost to Arsenal at the weekend.

Injury-wise, the hosts will miss Emil Krafth, Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento and Fabian Sch?r while Brighton could be without Adam Webster, Diego Gomez, James Milner, Solly March and Stefanos Tzimas.

For a team that qualified for the Champions League last season, the Geordies have been underwhelming to say the least. Injuries haven’t helped them either but they have been far too inconsistent and have even lost a lot of home games this season. On the basis of form, Brighton could grab a victory at St James’ Park but with the Newcastle midfielders Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton coming back into the starting team, we believe this would be an end-to-end affair that may end in a draw.

Score Predictions: Newcastle 2–2 Brighton

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Sunderland

Wolves have already been relegated and hence this game doesn’t hold much importance for them except for the fact that they would give their fans something to smile about with a home win. Sunderland will go into this game being hurt after having suffered a 5-0 thrashing at home by Nottingham Forest.

Wolves are without a win in their last five with four defeats and a solitary draw that came against Brentford. The Black Cats have suffered two straight defeats now and have two wins and three defeats in their last five.

Injury-wise, Wolves will miss Sam Johnstone, Ladislav Krejci and Enso Gonzalez while Sunderland will be without Simon Moore, Bertrand Traore, Jocelin Ta Bi, Nilson Angulo and Romain Mundle.

Both teams have been on the losing streak but Wolves more so and the difference could be the motivation. While Wolves are already relegated, Sunderland will stay in top flight but they would like to finish in the top half as they are currently sitting in 12th place. Also, the Wear side team has more match-winners in their team and are defensively more solid – the Forest game being a rare aberration. We believe Sunderland will come away with a win in a tight and scrappy affair.

Score Prediction: Wolves 1–2 Sunderland

Arsenal vs Fulham

The Gunners could increase their lead to six points and put pressure on City who have a game in hand and will play Everton away on Sunday. Arsenal came away with a draw against Atletico in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals and look to be in control when they play them in the second leg next week. Fulham secured a massive three points defeating Aston Villa at Craven Cottage last weekend.

Arsenal also defeated Newcastle United at home, returning to winning ways after two straight league defeats. Fulham have had mixed results in their last five and have been struck by inconsistency this season. The Cottagers have two wins, two draws and a defeat in their last five and are currently sitting in tenth place.

From a personnel availability perspective, Arsenal could be without Jurriën Timber, Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino while Fulham could miss Kenny Tete, Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi and Kevin for this game.

Arsenal’s home record has been quite superb this season as they have lost only two home games so far. In the reverse fixture, Arsenal defeated Fulham at the Cottage. The only disadvantage Arsenal have is that they played midweek while Fulham has a fully rested squad. However, we do believe Arsenal are a stronger team and would win this game comfortably.

Score Prediction: Arsenal 2–0 Fulham

Manchester United vs Liverpool

England’s most iconic rivalry between the two most successful clubs has continued to entertain us season after season. Though this season, the battle will be for finishing third.

Though Liverpool has gotten the better of United over the past few seasons, this season has been a difficult one for the Merseyside Reds as they have struggled massively in the league and also lost the reverse fixture at Anfield this season. However, Liverpool have improved their form over the last few games as they have now won three straight games after a draw and a defeat. As for United, they have improved a lot from last year when they finished the season in an underwhelming 15th place. United’s form is similar to Liverpool’s with three wins, a draw and a defeat. Their most recent result was a win at home against Brentford.

Both teams have been struck by injuries to key players but Liverpool has been very unlucky with some long-term injuries this season. Man United will miss Luke Shaw, Matheus Cunha and Matthijs de Ligt with Lisandro Martinez being suspended while Liverpool could be without Mohammed Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Stefan Bajcetic and Geovanni Leoni.

Old Trafford isn’t an easy place to go but Liverpool has done well there in the past few seasons. Having said that, United do have a decent attacking line and could cause the vulnerable Liverpool defence a few problems. We believe this would be a tight and scrappy game which may end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Man United 1–1 Liverpool

Everton vs Manchester City

After two consecutive defeats in two previous weekends, Everton would be looking to return to winning ways this gameweek. As for their opponents, it’s vital for Man City to win this as they wouldn’t want to fall behind in the title-race.

Everton have three defeats, a win and a draw from their last five while Man City have two draws and three wins from theirs. Their last win came against Burnley in the league and they also reached the FA Cup final, beating Southampton in the semis. City are currently three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.

Everton will be without Beto, Jarrad Branthwaite and Jack Grealish for this game while City will miss Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and Rodri for this game.

Everton haven’t been unbeatable at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium as they have suffered quite a few defeats at home this season. Pep Guardiola’s City are a very experienced and mentally strong team when it comes to title races and we believe they will secure the three points against the Toffees to sustain the pressure on Arsenal in the title-race.

Score Prediction: Everton 0–2 Man City
