Rodin Carlin signs Abbi Pulling for F1 Academy

British racing driver Abbi Pulling has been announced as the second driver by Rodin Carlin for the upcoming inaugural season of the F1 Academy series. Pulling will be partnering with compatriot Jessica Edgar, who was also recently announced as a Rodin Carlin racer.

Pulling took part in the Ginetta Junior Championship, the GT5 Challenge, the F4 British Champions, and the Formula Renault Eurocup before making her debut in the W Series with Puma in 2021. She had a strong 2022 season with Racing X in the W Series, which saw her take two podiums and finish fourth in the Championship standings.

Pulling signed for Alpine in March 2022, joining their Alpine Affiliate Programme. She has also recently been announced as a full-fledged member of the Alpine Academy.

Pulling spoke about joining the team, commenting:

It is great to be competing in the first season of the F1 Academy, especially to be working with such a successful team as Rodin Carlin.  Having spent time with the team before, I can’t wait to get the season started, working alongside some incredible people. I have lots of trust in them and know they will push me to be the best I can be. I’m very thankful for the continued support of the AlpineAcademy for a second season and the great work of Gazing Performance and AlicePowell behind the scenes.  I’m also excited to welcome My First Alert who are supporting my programme for the first time this year.

Stephanie Carlin, Team Principal, Rodin Carlin, said:

We’re delighted to welcome Abbi to the team for this first season of F1 Academy.  Our paths have crossed in the past before and Abbi is a driver we’ve wanted to work with for some time now.  We’re really excited that we are able to work on this programme together and have no doubt that Abbi will be a huge asset to the team.  Thank you to the Alpine Academy for entrusting us with this next stage of Abbi’s career.  We can’t wait to get on track.

The F1 Academy is an all-female driver series and is set to have 15 drivers on the grid racing for the following teams: ART, Campos Racing, Rodin Carlin, MP Motorsport and PREMA Racing — all fielding three cars each. With an aim to develop the upcoming female drivers, the inaugural season of the F1 Academy will have seven events with three races each, which means a total of 21 races and 15 days of testing.
