Roland-Garros nets massive Renault deal

The French Tennis Federation has signed a five-year deal with French car manufacturer Renault, which will see Renault become a Premium Partner of Roland-Garros, the French Open, till 2026, starting from 2022.
The partnership is reported to be worth between €5m and €7m per year. Renault will be providing the French Open with 160 vehicles, including 100 Renault Megane e-Tech Electric cars. The Renault branding will also be visible on the nets at the Stade Roland Garros’ five main courts. There will also be a Renault stand at the Stade Roland Garros.

Speaking about the deal, Gilles Moretton, French Tennis Federation President, commented:
“We are thrilled with this Premium partnership, which was an obvious step for two French brands with a strong international dimension. It’s an ambitious partnership and we’re both committed to shaking things up and achieving our sustainable mobility goals in the very near future. Renault is also planning to extend the partnership beyond Roland-Garros, which gives us great cause for satisfaction.”

Additionally, Renault will also launch the ‘GIVE ME 5’ programme which is the company’s latest social responsibility project aimed at the younger generation, through which it will be promoting the game across various cities in France. Renault will also develop and renovate playing facilities for the kids.
This year, Roland-Garros will take place from May 16 to June 5 and will kick off the Parisian Grand Slam.
Prior to Renault joining, Peugeot was the Official Partner of Roland-Garros since 1984.
