Saudi Arabia’s esports festival Gamers8 has announced a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament with a US$1m prize pool. The tournament is set to have twelve of the world’s most elite teams fight it out over a span of eight weeks and is scheduled for August 14–20, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The CS:GO tournament will be a part of the second edition of the Gamers8 festival, which will kick off from July 6, 2023, for a period of eight weeks and will be held entirely in Riyadh. The festival will have a total of US$45 million in prize money.

The tournament structure and format is yet to be revealed, as are the teams who will be participating in it. The tournament will clash with the ESL Pro League Season 18, which is scheduled for August 15 – September 24, 2023.

ESL FACEIT Group will be the production company for the event. The ESL FACEIT Group is owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund-backed Savvy Games Group.
