Sky Italia renews broadcast deal with UEFA

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the body that oversees football in Europe, has extended its exclusive media rights agreement with Italian TV network Sky Italia.

Under the terms of the new agreement, which will be valid from the 2024–25 season to the 2026–27 season, Sky Italia will have exclusive broadcast rights for all 342 UEFA Europa League (UEL) and UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) games as well as 185 of the 203 UEFA Champions League (UCL) fixtures per season.

For the current three-year 2021–2024 cycle, Sky Italia has the rights to broadcast 121 of the 137 UCL games and all 282 UEL and UECL games.

Starting with the 2024–25 season, UEFA club competitions will be contested 11 out of 12 months, and there will be 47% more matches than in previous editions. Thus, there will be a total of 527 games played during the course of the three competitions: 185 UCL matches (including playoffs), 189 UEL matches, and 153 UECL matches.

Commenting on the development, Andrea Duilio, CEO of Sky Italia, said:

We are really excited to continue being UEFA’s partner and to offer our subscribers exclusively the big matches of these important European competitions until 2027. With the renewal of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, our Casa dello Sport will host many seasons of exclusive live events. A confirmation of our commitment to investing in high-quality content to bring Sky families a varied and quality offer, which combines Italian and international cinema, entertainment, TV series and big sport with the best possible viewing experience.
