Switzerland will face co-hosts Canada in their last Group B encounter of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 25 at BC Place Vancouver. Both sides are currently level on four points each, with Canada at the top courtesy of their superior goal difference.

For the game, here we present our preview and prediction.

FIFA WC26 | Group B: SUI vs CAN | 00:30 IST, June 25, 2026

This is a very important game for both sides, as it will decide who finishes top of the group.

Switzerland won their last game against Bosnia & Herzegovina in fine fashion, thrashing them 4–1. Johan Manzambi was the star of the show with a brace, while Rubén Vargas and Granit Xhaka were the other scorers for the Swiss. Ermin Mahmic earned a late consolation goal in stoppage time for the Zlatni Ljiljani after Tarik Muharemovic had been sent off in the 80th minute.

After the disappointing draw against Qatar, the Swiss recovered well to earn three big points and a massive result to keep their hopes of progressing to the next round alive.

As for hosts Canada, they too started their campaign with a draw against Bosnia & Herzegovina but came alive in the game against Qatar, winning their first-ever men’s World Cup game in style. Star striker Jonathan David led them with a hat-trick, as the Canadians thrashed Qatar 6–0; Cyle Larin, Nathan Saliba, and a Mohamed Manai own-goal completed the rout. Qatar were also not helped by two red cards to Homam Ahmed (33’) and Assim Modibo (53’) and had to play with nine men for most of the second half, which only worsened the situation for them.

One blemish for Canada was the injury to Ismaël Koné, who suffered a broken leg and had to be stretchered off. Another injury concern for Canada is Alfie Jones, who could be out with a thigh injury. As for the Swiss, Miro Muheim might be unavailable due to a calf injury.

This is the first time these two teams will be playing each other, that too in a World Cup game. While both teams are almost assured of a place in the next round, this game could decide which side finishes top of the group. We believe this could be a cagey affair, with both teams looking to sit deep and attack the opposition on the counter. Our prediction for this game is a draw.

Score Prediction: Switzerland 1–1 Canada
Venue: BC Place Vancouver, Vancouver, Canada
