FIFA WC26 | Group F: TUN vs NED | 04:30 IST, 26 June, 2026

Tunisia entered this World Cup as one of the African sides with the best record in the qualifying rounds. However, they have now turned into arguably the worst-performing nation surrounded by chaos and mediocrity in every single aspect of their game.

They were thoroughly outfought and outclassed by Sweden in the first game where they slumped to an embarrassing 5-1 defeat against Sweden following which they sacked their manager Sabri Lamouchi, who was appointed just 5 months before the World cup, replacing him with Herve Renard.

If Tunisia thought that Renard’s appointment would bring them the improvement that they wanted, they were in for a very rude awakening as they were put to the sword by a relentless Japan side where they could just not live with the lightning-quick movement and organisation of the Asian side. A 4-0 scoreline eventually just flattered the Tunisians because it could have easily been more.

Put simply, Tunisia were just not able to turn up when it mattered, and matters were not helped with the chaotic nature of their preparation and their scattergun approach to hiring and firing managers. A face-saving performance against the Dutch may go some way in reclaiming that damaged pride, but it won’t be enough.

The Oranje, on the other hand, are finally finding their stride and are fast emerging as one of the teams to look out for in this World Cup. They followed their impressive performance against Japan in an even more commanding and comprehensive one in their 5-1 dismantling of Sweden. Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo scored braces while Crysencio Summerville also got on the scoresheet. Brobbey was a constant menace to the Swedes with his back to the goal and his relentless physicality, while Gakpo took both of his goals with composure.

However, it was Denzel Dumfries who was their best player on the night. The now Real Madrid man was sublime as his movement and crossing were just too much to handle for Sweden throughout the course of the game.

Credit must go to coach Ronald Koeman, who is now steadily picking his side based on the opposition. He may divide opinions among the Dutch faithful, but for now he is doing all the right things and getting the required results from his side.

This game is a dead rubber, so expect Koeman to ring in the changes and test his bench as tougher challenges lie ahead in the tournament, but that still does not give Tunisia a free pass, making the Dutch favourites in this game and another potentially long night for the Tunisians.

Score Predictions: Tunisia 0- 4 Netherlands

Venue: Kansas City Stadium, Kansas City.
