Ubisoft announces Rainbow Six Mobile

Mobile version to release after three years of development.

Game developer Ubisoft has revealed that it will be releasing Rainbow Six Mobile. Ubisoft has announced that the live tests of the mobile game that has been in development for the last three years are scheduled in the ‘coming weeks’.
Ubisoft has revealed that the tactical mobile shooter game will have two teams of five players each. The company has also stated that, even though it is built completely for mobile devices, Rainbow Six Mobile will have resemblances to Rainbow Six: Siege, one of Ubisoft’s most popular FPS games, which was released in 2015. The changes between the two are that Rainbow Six Mobile is a best-of-three-rounds affair, the map pools and operators are smaller, and the HUD has been adjusted accordingly for mobile devices. Familar maps such as Border and Bank along with various game modes such as Bomb and Secure Area remain.

In an official statement, Ubisoft said:
“Our vision is to bring the Rainbow Six universe to mobile, enabling more people worldwide to enjoy this competitive, tactical, and immersive FPS experience whenever and wherever they want. We feel very lucky that the mobile market has evolved to the point where we can develop such an ambitious game that we love to play.”

Rainbow Six Mobile will be available both on Android and iOS, and even though a release date hasn’t been announced yet, pre-registrations are already open for iOS and Android users through the official Rainbow Six Mobile website, where users will have to register and join the list.
Rainbow Six Mobile’s key art and trailer have revealed that the game will have operators such as Caveira, Bandit, Smoke, Valkyrie, Mute, Ash, Sledge, Twitch, Thermite and Hibana, with each of them equipped with the classic Siege loadouts of primary and secondary weapons.
With its venture into the mobile gaming world, Rainbow Six Mobile joins the likes of other console games such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, which are also heading to the small screens.
