Utah Jazz Sponsors 2021-2022

The Utah Jazz are an NBA team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 1974, they are a part of the Western Conference and have been playing in the Vivint Arena since 1991.

The Jazz, as per ESPN, are estimated to be valued at US$1.66 billion, which includes their arena and G League affiliations.

In this article, we take a look at the off-court brand deals and sponsorships that add to the overall revenue of the Utah Jazz.

Exclusive Solar Provider: LGCY Power

In December 2021, the Utah Jazz and LGCY Power announced an exclusive, multi-year partnership in the consumer category of solar power/energy, with the latter selected as the Exclusive Solar Provider of the former.

LGCY Power, an industry leader in residential solar energy services, is also one of the presenting sponsors of the NBA.

The exclusive partnership between the two parties includes naming rights for the showcase Legends Club presented by LGCY Power on level two of the Vivint Arena, digital and traditional branding during Jazz games on-air and in the arena, and other promotional and experiential partnerships assets.

Exclusive Corporate Partner: America First

In October 2021, the Jazz and America First Credit Union announced an exclusive, multi-year partnership, naming America First as the Official Credit Union Partner of the Utah Jazz.

The largest credit union in Utah, America First was selected by the NBA franchise as their only corporate partner in the consumer category.

America First Union Credit has been affiliated with the Utah Jazz since 1985, and now has an expanded relationship with the franchise, including digital and traditional branding at Vivint Arena, activations during Jazz games, and affiliations with the NBA G League Salt Lake City Stars and other sporting events.

The two organisations also work together on various community outreach initiatives throughout the state of Utah.

America First is also the presenting sponsor of Junior Jazz, the largest and longest-running youth basketball league in the NBA which features more than 60,000 participants, as well as a supporter of the Jazz Youth Camps & Clinics program.

New Team Partner: Route

The Utah Jazz and Utah Jazz Team Store announced in March 2021 a new multi-year partnership with Route, a Lehi-based e-commerce company.

As part of the partnership, the Utah Jazz Team Store has integrated Route into the online ordering process for fans purchasing jerseys, hats, shirts, and other official team gear. In addition, fans can show they have downloaded the Route app to receive 10% off on the purchases made in person at the Utah Jazz Team Store. The Utah Jazz, thus, join more than 8,000 other merchants that use Route to improve the e-commerce experience for their customers.

Exclusive 5G Partner: Verizon

The telecommunication industry giant has its 5G spread across 60 NBA arenas, having agreed on multi-year agreements with 15 NBA franchises, the Utah Jazz being one of them.

The company’s 5G Ultra Wideband network enables the franchises to provide their fans with more immersive experiences and allow their arenas to use next-gen solutions for operational purposes around public safety, access, concessions, and crowd management.

Jersey Partner: Qualtrics

In January 2021, the Utah Jazz and Qualtrics renewed their partnership, with the latter continuing as the sponsor of the Utah Jazz jersey patch through the 2022-23 season as well as the Exclusive Fan Experience, Insights, and Analytics partner of the Jazz.

The partnership began in 2017 when Qualtrics donated its sponsorship of the jersey patch to 5 For the Fight — the global campaign inviting everyone to donate US$5 for the fight against cancer. It was the first-ever cause-related sponsorship in the history of North American professional sports and is the only cause-related jersey patch in the NBA.

When Qualtrics and the Jazz announced a three-year extension in 2020, they reaffirmed their commitment to cancer research by continuing to donate the patch to 5 For the Fight through 2023. To date, 5 For The Fight has raised more than US$24 million to help eradicate cancer. All funds raised are used to accelerate the pace of innovative cancer research by supporting revolutionary cancer researchers and cutting-edge medical centres around the world, including the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City.
