Club will provide trading cards through Fanzone app.
Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg have announced a new partnership with digital platform Fanzone which will see the German club step into the crypto and NFT world.
As part of the deal, Wolfsburg will be releasing digital trading cards through the Fanzone app and their fans will be able to purchase, trade and collect them and participate in fantasy games.
The first phase will see the launch of two men’s team packs, which will be followed by two women’s team packs along with a mixed release as well.
Speaking about the deal, VfL Wolfsburg Managing Director, Michael Meeske, stated:
“There are lots of NFT solutions in this fledgling market. In Fanzone, we have found a partner who puts the interests of our fans first and helps us venture down new innovative paths. Football trading cards have been close companions for fans for generations, and we’re delighted to now bring this continued enthusiasm to our supporters in digital terms – all thanks to blockchain-based applications.”
