Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will play Gujarat Giants in Match 12 of the WPL at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Having lost their previous encounters, both teams will be looking to make amends with a win in this game.
Women’s Premier League 2025 Match 12: Group Stage Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Giants | 19:30 IST, February 27th
RCB played UP Warriorz in a thrilling encounter in their previous match which was the first ever WPL game to be decided by a super over. RCB scored a decent 180/6 with top scores of 90*(56) from Ellyse Perry and 57(41) from Danni Wyatt-Hodge.
In response, UP Warriorz looked like they may fall short but a late blitz from Sophie Ecclestone who scored 31 off 19 balls levelled the scores. Sneh Rana was the pick of the bowlers for RCB with figures of 3/27. The game went into a super over with the Warriorz only managing to score 8/1 but Sophie Ecclestone led the way with the ball as well, only giving away 4 runs to win the match for the Warriorz.
On the other hand, Gujarat Giants lost a fairly one-sided encounter to Delhi Capitals in their previous match. Batting first, the Giants batters could only manage 127/9 with Bharti Fulmali being the lone warrior scoring 40*(29). Shikha Pandey and Marizann Kapp took two wickets each for DC.
In response, Delhi Capitals chased the total down with 4.5 overs to spare, losing four wickets in the process. Jess Jonassen and Shafali Verma were the top scorers for DC with 61*(32) and 44(27) respectively. Kashvi Gautam was the best bowler for the Giants with figures of 2/26.
While both these teams struggled in their previous games, RCB has more firepower in batting and bowling as compared to Gujarat Giants who have been unable to find the right balance. Also, Ellyse Perry has been in exceptional form for RCB and could make merry against a relatively inexperienced Giants bowling attack.
Fantasy XI: Beth Mooney (wk), Smriti Mandhana (c), Harleen Deol, Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Deandra Dottin, Richa Ghosh, Georgia Wareham, Sneh Rana, Renuka Singh Thakur, Kim Garth.
