Premier League 2025/26: Gameweek 24 Preview and Predictions

Neha Johri Neha Johri

After the midweek mayhem of the European competitions, the Premier League action returns at the weekend with another set of mouth-watering clashes. Some of the big games at the weekend will be Newcastle travelling to Anfield to face Liverpool, Spurs welcoming the Cityzens to North London and the Seagulls clashing with the Toffees.

Let’s take a look at all the preview and predictions from Gameweek 24 –

Leeds United vs Arsenal

After securing a point against Everton in the previous game week, Leeds United will return to Elland Road this weekend for a face-off with the table toppers Arsenal.

Arsenal’s last three games have produced just two points with the most recent league fixture resulting in their first home defeat of the season coming against Manchester United. The surprise loss also reduced their lead at the top to four points. The goals seem to have dried up for Arsenal as they failed to score against Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in recent league fixtures. In European competition though, they have been absolutely imperious, ending the league phase of the Champions League with eight wins out of eight and ending the league campaign at the top of the table.

As for Leeds, they would be fresh after a week’s rest as they are only competing in the Premier League, a slight advantage for the Whites as compared to the Gunners who would have few tired legs in the group. Leeds’ recent form has been great too as they only have one defeat in their last 10 games.

Arsenal’s injury issues have finally dissipated as Mikel Arteta will have a full squad to choose from barring Max Dowman who is out with an ankle injury. Leeds will miss Gabriel Gudmundsson, Jake Bijol and Daniel James for this fixture.

This Leeds team have made an unbelievable turnaround in recent months and facing them on their home turf won’t be easy for the Gunners, even though they absolutely crushed them at the Emirates in the reverse fixture. This Leeds team has improved a lot since then, plays a physical game and are decent on the counter so Arsenal would have to watch out for such situations. With all their attacking players available, Arsenal could be a bit too much to handle for Leeds though and therefore, the visitors should come away with the three points in a tight game.

Score Prediction: Leeds United 1-2 Arsenal

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Bournemouth

After the late win against Liverpool at home, the Cherries will try to build momentum against an improved Wolves side.

Bournemouth gained a massive three points against Liverpool, coming back with a late winner in stoppage-time after giving up a two-goal advantage initially. Bournemouth have lost a lot of points from winning positions this year which has been a recurring problem for coach Andoni Iraola that he hasn’t been able to correct.

As for their opponents, Wolves are still bottom of the Premier League table but have shown improvements over the past month. After a run of four unbeaten games in all competitions, they lost to Manchester City last weekend. So, they are not a team Bournemouth can take for granted.

Iraola has a selection headache though as a host of key players are out with injuries. Justin Kluivert, Marcus Tavernier, Tyler Adams, David Brooks, Julio Soler, Ben Doak, Will Dennis and Matai Akinmboni are all unavailable for this match. Wolves on the other hand, will only miss Toti Gomes and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde for this encounter.

This is a tough one to call as Wolves do have the home advantage and have turned around their form in the last month or so. Having said that, Bournemouth do have some dangerous players in their attack and play attractive football which could trouble the Wolves’ defence. This could be a highly entertaining end-to-end encounter with the visitors grabbing the three points again.

Score Prediction: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-3 Bournemouth

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Everton

An out-of-form Seagulls will face Everton at the Amex this weekend.

With two wins from their last five games, Brighton have been hurt by their own mistakes and inconsistencies this season. In the last gameweek, they lost to Fulham at the Cottage and are currently sitting outside of the top ten places in the league table. The Merseyside Blues haven’t fared any better than their opponents as they have only won one game in their last five with three draws and a defeat at home to Brentford.

Brighton still has a fair few out with injuries. Adam Webster, Mats Weiffer, Brajan Gruda, Solly March and Stefanos Tzimas will be out for this game. Everton will miss Tim Iroegbunam and Jack Grealish for this game.

With Grealish injured, Everton will definitely miss one of their most impactful forwards but they still have the likes of Iliman Ndiaye, Barry and Idrissa Gueye to help them in attack. As for Brighton, it won’t be easy for them to overpower the solid defence of Everton and it would take a great attacking move for them to find a breakthrough. Considering that both have played out several draws in recent games, this could end in another game which ends in honours even.

Score Prediction: Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Everton

Chelsea vs West Ham United

After the massive comeback win in Naples midweek, the Blues will welcome the Hammers to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

The new manager’s bounce has worked like magic for Chelsea as they won against Brentford last weekend and then won a difficult away fixture against Napoli in the Champions League, also ensuring a top eight finish. Chelsea has been in decent form since Liam Rosenior took over the reins at Stamford Bridge. Their opponents West Ham have been struggling all season and are still languishing in the bottom three. Though the Hammers have seen an upturn in their form, winning their last two league games, they need a run of results to escape the drop zone.

From an injury perspective, Chelsea still has players out with Levi Colwill (out for the season), Tosin Adarabioyo, Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia while West Ham only have ?ukasz Fabia?ski out with a back injury.

Considering how Chelsea has performed in recent weeks, they will definitely be the favourites to win at home but West Ham have shown improvement and cannot be taken lightly as they performed really well to defeat a tricky Sunderland last weekend. With most of their frontline players firing, the hosts should win this encounter.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 West Ham United

Liverpool vs Newcastle United

After imposing a crushing 6-0 defeat on Azerbaijani opponents Qarabag in the Champions League, Liverpool will have a tough opponent to face at home this weekend.

After the late defeat against Bournemouth at the weekend, Liverpool went all out against Qarabag this midweek with an aim to confirm a top eight finish. As for the Magpies, they came from behind to earn a valuable point against a dangerous Paris Saint-Germain side. However, they couldn’t secure automatic qualification and will have to contest the two-legged playoffs to qualify for the Round of 16. In the league last weekend, Newcastle suffered a home defeat to Aston Villa and have only one win in their last five games.

Liverpool’s injury issues have grown to concerning levels as they only have one fit centre-back at the moment. Joe Gomez, Geovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong, Alexander Isak and Stefan Baj?eti? all out with injuries while Ibrahima

Konaté is out for personal reasons. Newcastle too has a few players on the sidelines with injuries to Emil Krafth, Fabian Schar, Jamal Lascelles and Tino Livramento.

With the backline injuries that Liverpool currently has, this could be a very difficult game for them as Newcastle play a very physical game and have the players up front that can trouble the weak Liverpool defence. Even though Liverpool possesses the firepower up front to score against the Geordies, their problem is conceding from set-pieces which could be exposed by Newcastle. That is why we are predicting this game to be a high-scoring affair that may end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Newcastle United

Manchester United vs Fulham

After two incredible wins in the league, a resurgent Manchester United will take on the Cottagers at Old Trafford this weekend.

Since the departure of Ruben Amorim and former player Michael Carrick taking charge of the Red Devils, they have produced two superb wins against Manchester City and Arsenal. Their opponents Fulham have a similar form in recent games, losing only one game in their last five. In their previous game against Brighton, they secured a vital three points through a stoppage-time winner.

Both teams have a few key injuries with Manchester United set to miss Patrick Dorgu, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee while Fulham will be without Kenny Tete, Sasa Lukic and Rodrigo Muniz for this big game.

Though the new manager’s bounce has worked well for United so far, they have been known to struggle against mid-table teams. Having said that, United have played attacking football in the last two games and their forwards have shown great scoring intent. Hence, United should be the favourites to secure the three points at home.

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City

After securing a top-eight finish in the Champions League midweek, Spurs would be looking to improve their home form against a Manchester City team looking to cut the deficit against Arsenal.

Both Spurs and Man City won their respective Champions League encounters and confirmed automatic qualification for the Round of 16. However, City’s recent form in the league has taken a tumble as they have been unable to take advantage of Arsenal’s dropped points in recent weeks with dropped points of their own. The Cityzens did return to winning ways with the three points against Wolves at home and will be hoping to build the winning momentum. As for the hosts, they haven’t won in their last five games, losing two and drawing three games.

Personnel availability has been a real issue with both teams as they both have crucial players on the sidelines, some even out for the season. For Spurs, the injury list consists of Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven, Lucas Bergvall, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison. Manchester City will miss John Stones, Joško Gvardiol, Rúben Dias, Mateo Kova?i?, Oscar Bobb and Savinho for this game.

While Spurs did win the away fixture early in the season, their injuries are very concerning and playing against the Man City frontline could prove disastrous for them. City do have a vulnerable defence as well but Erling Haaland scoring midweek will be good news for them and though this could be a thoroughly entertaining affair, we believe City will run away with the three points.

Score Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-3 Manchester City

Sunderland vs Burnley

The Black Cats will be looking to return to winning ways after the away defeat to the Hammers last weekend.

Sunderland is now the only team in the Premier League who hasn’t been beaten at home after Arsenal lost to Man United last weekend. The Stadium of Light has been an absolute fortress for them as the fans have rallied them on several occasions to win or draw games. However, the Clarets have also turned their form around a bit, getting respectable draws against Man United, Liverpool and Spurs in recent weeks. They are still in trouble though as draws won’t help them to safety in the top-flight and they would need to start winning games to have any chance of survival.

Injury-wise, Sunderland will miss the services of Granit Xhaka and Bertrand Traoré while Burnley has a long list of injured personnel, few of them being long-term absentees. Joe Worrall, Jordan Beyer, Zeki Amdouni, Mike Tresor, Josh Cullen, Connor Roberts and Zian Flemming will be doubtful for this game.

Sunderland’s impressive home record puts this match in their favour as even though Burnley has snatched draws but they are still without a win in their last five league encounters and beating the Wearside team away from home might not be feasible for Burnley. Their best hope of a result is another draw but we believe Sunderland will secure the three points, breaking Burnley hearts this weekend.

Score Prediction: Sunderland 2-1 Burnley
