USTA brings on Oura as new partner for US Open and more
The U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) has announced a new five-year partnership with smart ring brand, Oura who will join as an Official Sponsor and Wearable Fitness Device Partner of the US Open, USTA and USTA Coaching. The multi-year partnership is the first-time the USTA has brought on a wearable partner with the aim of normalising advanced health tracking.
The agreement will see the Oura Ring be present at all Main Draw players at the US Open at the player gifting suite. Oura will also be integrated across various platforms including the USTA Coaching, USTA League National Championships and USTA members. Starting this year, Oura will sponsor the USTA League National Championships and provide benefits to the USTA members and coaching members. The USTA Coaching will also work with Oura to develop health and wellness studies. Oura will also take on the role of a Founding Partner of the Player Performance Centre, gaining naming rights to the wellness and recovery area.
At the tournaments, Oura will have branding presence through on-court logo visibility across Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium and prominent signage throughout the grounds, and virtual LED messaging on court along with working on fan engagement activities, activations and host giveaways and more.
Kirsten Corio, chief commercial officer, USTA, said,
“Oura and the USTA share a vision rooted in health and wellness, and this partnership will amplify that in so many ways. Oura’s presence at the US Open will have an immediate and long-lasting benefit for fans, players and coaches, and Oura’s commitment to the grassroots — leveraging their best-in-class recovery science and data to benefit players and coaches alike — make this a partnership that can have a demonstrative impact on the growth and vitality of our game for generations to come.”
Tom Hale, chief executive officer at Oura, added,
“Tennis demands everything from the body and the mind, and what separates great players from champions is often what happens off the court. Sleep and recovery are the invisible edge. That’s what makes this partnership such a natural fit for Oura: it brings our belief that health should be a daily practice to one of the biggest stages in sport, while helping millions of fans around the world see the connection between how they recover and how they perform.”
