Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announces scouting rights partnership with Catapult
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced a scouting rights partnership with sports technology company Catapult.
The partnership will see Catapult provide video scouting and analysis to AFC-affiliated professional football organisations with the goal of helping Asian teams reach international heights. Catapult will also provide clubs, federations, and scouts with enhanced access to match content and performance insights.
The partnership, set to run until the end of the 2028/29 season, will cover the AFC’s full portfolio of senior and youth national team tournaments as well as club competitions, including the 2027 Asian Cup, the Champions League Elite, the Champions League Two, the Women’s Champions League, the 2028 U23 Asian Cup, and the U20 and U17 national team competitions.
Datuk Seri Windsor John, AFC General Secretary, commented:
“In line with our Vision to ensure Asian teams excel on the global stage, this arrangement with Catapult allows us to showcase the immense talent pool within our continent. By providing clubs and scouts worldwide with seamless access to high-quality video and data, we are strengthening the professional foundation of Asian football and opening up new development pathways for our footballers.”
Kieran Dannatt, VP of Global Partnerships, said:
“We’re delighted to collaborate with the AFC and bring global talent scouts a complete, multi-angle view of athletes so they can evaluate talent faster and with total clarity. The agreement further strengthens our rapidly growing global coverage, which now includes more than 150 leagues and competitions worldwide.”
Patrick Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Football Group, said:
“We’re pleased to welcome Catapult as a scouting rights partner of the AFC. This affiliation opens up access to AFC competition content through Catapult’s platform, and we look forward to seeing the impact it has across the football community.”
