After the three-week international break, Premier League action returns with some intriguing fixtures. Arsenal will face Leeds at the Emirates, Manchester United welcome Spurs to Old Trafford, the Black Cats will take on the Seagulls and Liverpool will host Man City in a massive Sunday night fixture.

Let’s take a look at all the preview and prediction from Gameweek 6:

Arsenal vs Leeds United

The Gunners will face Leeds at home in the opening game of Gameweek 6. Arsenal lost their first game of the season before the break when Brighton defeated them 3-0 at the Amex stadium. As for Leeds, they went into the break with a goalless draw against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal has only lost one game in all competitions so far, having conceded only four goals in five games and three of those came against Brighton. As for Leeds United, they have been unbeaten so far with two wins and three draws in five league fixtures.

William Saliba and Christos Tzolis will be unavailable while Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapié, Ben White, Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Ezri Konsa and Max Dowman are all doubtful for this game. As for Leeds, Joe Rodon and Mateo Joseph will be out with Harry Wilson doubtful for the game.

Although Arsenal had a slight bump, they are still in second place with four wins and a loss from five games while Leeds are still unbeaten in the league, although they have two wins and three draws. It’s going to be a difficult game as there is a possibility of key players missing out the game for the hosts but we believe Arsenal still has a lot of quality to win this game, three points for Arsenal in a narrow win.

Score Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Leeds

Aston Villa vs Brentford

Aston Villa went into the international break with a semblance of having recovered their form with three back-to-back wins including a friendly match against Spanish club Sevilla during the break. As for Brentford, they are still unbeaten in the league and beat Chelsea convincingly in their last Premier League fixture.

Aston Villa has a problem with injuries though. Ian Maatsen and Amadou Onana will be unavailable for this game while Modou Keba Cissé, Marco Bizot, Pau Torres and Leon Goretzka are all doubtful. Brentford will miss Mathias Jensen for this game with Mikkel Damsgaard, Dango Ouattara, Nathan Collins, Joshua Dasilva, Sepp van den Berg and Antoni Milambo all doubtful.

This could be a very tough game for the Villans as Brentford can’t be taken lightly. They are a well-coached team that play to their strengths and are dangerous on set-pieces as well although they could miss some key players. Brentford also has a superior head-to-head record and won both matches against Villa last season and hence we feel they could get a result at Villa Park this season too.

Score Prediction: Aston Villa 0-1 Brentford

Ipswich Town vs Fulham

Ipswich Town will go into this game on the back of two consecutive defeats while the Cottagers have shown improvement earning credible draws against Liverpool and Manchester United after a poor start to the season.

Ipswich has lost four out of their last five games only winning away at Selhurst Park, conceding 14 goals in those games. Fulham is unbeaten in their last three games but scored only one goal in their last two league fixtures. They are currently in 19th place in the league table.

Ipswich will be without Abdul Fatawu due to suspension and Jack Taylor is doubtful for this game. Fulham has Kenny Tete and Tom Cairney doubtful for this game.

Fulham has a superior head-to-head record against the Tractor Boys and having gained some positive momentum, this could be a game where they can gain their first win of the season. Ipswich has shown defensive frailties and could concede goals, hence we believe Fulham should win this game although they should be wary of the Ipswich attack.

Score Prediction: Ipswich 1-2 Fulham

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Chelsea would want to return to winning ways after the humiliating defeat against the Bees. The Cherries would also want to earn points away from home after the narrow defeat to Liverpool before the break.

Chelsea started the season well with two consecutive wins initially but they have lost two and drawn one game since then with their recent one a 3-0 defeat against Brentford. As for Bournemouth, they have lost games from winning positions this season and dropped points due to that. Although they won their first-ever European game against Real Sociedad, they suffered a narrow loss to Liverpool at home before the break.

Chelsea will be without Jamie Gittens for this game with Marco Palestra, Moisés Caicedo, Reese James, Emanuel Emegha and João Pedro all doubtful with knocks and injuries. Bournemouth will miss Eli Junior Kroupi, Justin Kluivert, Alex Scott and Julian Araujo for this game with Amine Adli, David Brooks and Veljko Milosavljevi? all doubtful for this game.

Both Chelsea and Bournemouth could be without some key players for this game. The Blues are playing at home and although they haven’t had problems with scoring goals, their defence has been shambolic, conceding the most goals in the league so far. We believe this could be an open, end-to-end affair that could end in an entertaining draw.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth

Sunderland vs Brighton and Hove Albion

The Black Cats will go into this fixture on the back of an entertaining affair against Man City although it resulted in a 5-3 defeat. As for the Seagulls, they have been soaring high, currently placed third in the league table and having defeated the defending champions at home.

Sunderland have suffered a dismal start to the season with a solitary win, a draw and three losses. In contrast, Brighton have been phenomenal, scoring at will and defeating tough opponents. Their back-to-back wins against Man United in the EFL Cup and Arsenal at home showed that they can’t be taken for granted this season.

Sunderland will be without Habib Diarra and Romain Mundle for this game with Brian Brobbey and Daniel Ballard doubtful to start. Brighton continue to have injury problems with Yankuba Minteh and Evan Ferguson unavailable while Yasin Ayari, Lewis Dunk, Mats Wieffer, Pascal Struijk, Jack Hinshelwood, Femi Azeez, Kaoru Mitoma, Stefanos Tzimas and Zadok Yohanna all doubtful for this game.

This is going to be a match-up between a solid defensive unit and an attacking force. Looking at the form of these two teams, we believe Brighton has the edge to win this game.

Score Prediction: Sunderland 1-3 Brighton

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United have had a topsy-turvy season so far and they went into the break with a loss in the EFL Cup third round against Brighton and a draw against Fulham. As for Spurs, they lost both of their last two games, a defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup third round and a close 2-3 loss to Aston Villa at home.

Spurs’ issues of the last two seasons haven’t been solved by a busy summer transfer window as they continue to struggle in the new season. The Lilywhites are sitting at the bottom of the table with two draws and three defeats in five league games. Man United have fared slightly better with one win, two draws and two defeats.

Injury-wise, the hosts will miss Manuel Ugarte while Karl Darlow, Tom Heaton, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, Benjamin Sesko and Marcus Rashford are all doubtful for this game. As for the visitors, they will be without Xavi Simons, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Wilson Odobert, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke with Dejan Kulusevski doubtful for this game.

This is a great opportunity for both teams to build some confidence and momentum. Man United playing at home have a slight advantage and they can exploit Spurs’ poor defending and lack of finishing. However, Spurs do have a chance of utilizing United’s defensive vulnerabilities as well. We still feel the Red Devils should win this game and Spurs will have to wait slightly longer for their first league win of the season.

Score Prediction: Man United 2-1 Tottenham

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace has also started the new season poorly as they are currently sitting in 15th place with one win, one draw and three defeats. Their last Premier League game was a goalless draw with Leeds United. Palace also played a friendly game against Bristol City in the international break and ended up losing that as well.

As for their opponents, Nottingham Forest suffered a home defeat to Coventry in their last league game. Forest has been unlike themselves this season, losing at home where they are usually solid and don’t give away points.

Crystal Palace will be without Chadi Riad (injury) and Axel Disasi (suspension) during this game. Dean Henderson, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Anan Khalaili are doubtful. Forest could only miss Nicoló Savona who is doubtful to start.

There isn’t much to choose from both teams as they are both struggling for form. Although Palace performed well in their Europa League fixture, the league is proving a massive challenge for new head-coach Pierre Sage. Forest are also struggling to find form even though they are not playing in Europe. As both teams are solid defensively, we believe this could end in a scrappy draw.

Score Prediction: Palace 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Hull City vs Everton

Hull City has exceeded expectations so far in the league, getting results against the big teams and proving difficult to breach their defence. Although their last league game was a defeat at St. James’ Park, the Tigers have done well considering the difficult opponents they have faced early in the season.

Their opponents Everton have started in decent fashion too as they are still unbeaten with two wins and three draws from their five league games, sitting in seventh place behind City rivals Liverpool. Their last game was a narrow win over Ipswich at home.

Hull do have a fair few out with injuries, Jack Butland, Darko Gyabi, Eliot Matazo, Ilyas Ansah and Tim Iroegbunam will be unavailable while Eliot Stroud, Charlie Hughes, Matt Targett and Hidemasa Morita are doubtful for this game. Everton has Merlin Röhl, Vitaliy Mykolenko and Christian Nørgaard doubtful.

Considering Hull’s injury problems, Everton has a slight advantage going into this game. We believe this will be a tight affair that could end in a narrow win for the Toffees.

Score Prediction: Hull 0-1 Everton

Liverpool vs Manchester City

This is going to be the most crucial game of the weekend with Liverpool looking to close the gap with the table toppers and Man City looking to keep their winning run going and maintaining their lead at the top.

Liverpool went into the international break with a hard-earned win against Bournemouth while City played an eight-goal thriller against Sunderland at the Etihad. Man City currently sit top of the table with five wins out of five while Liverpool are also unbeaten but sit in sixth place with two wins and three draws.

Injury-wise, Liverpool will be without Cody Gakpo, Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitiké and Geovanni Leoni while Nico O’Reilly and Antoine Semenyo are doubtful for City with Phil Foden suspended for this game.

With whatever has happened during the international break, the atmosphere is surely going to be hostile for Man City. It’s going to be a tough game for Cityzens at Anfield and with City’s defence slightly more leaky than Liverpool’s, the hosts have a slight advantage going into this game. Although we expect a tightly-contested affair, we believe Liverpool can grab the three points.

Score Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Man City

Coventry City vs Newcastle United

Coventry City’s start to the season hasn’t been anything they would have expected.  With one win and four defeats, they are sitting in the relegation zone. Their first win of the season arrived unexpectedly against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and that would have given them a lot of confidence.

As for the Magpies, they have started well under new head-coach Matthias Jaissle, having won two, drawn two and lost only one game. Their last league game was a win over Hull City at home.

Coventry will go into this game without Haji Wright, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Luke Woolfenden, Josh Eccles and Aurèle Amenda. The Geordies continue to suffer from injury issues with key players unavailable. Jacob Ramsey, Anthony Elanga, William Osula and Joelinton are all on the sidelines with Tino Livramento, Dan Burn and Amar Dedi? also a doubt.

Hull has performed well at home so far but Newcastle could definitely pose a challenge with their physicality and pacy forwards. However, considering their injury problems, Newcastle could find the going difficult at the MKM stadium. Our prediction for the game is a draw between the two sides.

Score Prediction: Hull City 1-1 Newcastle
