The new partnership will see the French organisation join Fortnite.
Paris Saint-Germain Esports, the esports team of Ligue 1 Uber Eats giants Paris Saint-Germain, has announced a new partnership with Team New Age (TNA), a North American esports organisation, which will see the French team launch its very own Fortnite team called PSG.TNA.
The PSG.TNA team is set to make its debut this year during the ongoing competitive season. It will mainly compete on the North America East server of the Fortnite Champions Series and will be based out of Washington, with members from the Americas and Oceania regions.
Speaking about the new partnership, Fabien Allègre, Paris Saint-Germain Brand Director, commented:
“Five years on from its creation, PSG Esports has taken another step forward. This is our first move on American soil and into the world’s most popular game.
“TNA has already won the Champions Series five times. We’re joining up with a battle-hardened team and our goal is to work together and go even higher.”
Joaquin Delmar, Team New Age Founder and CFO, added:
“This is a historic opportunity for Team New Age. What once started as a project between three lifelong friends has now turned into one of the best teams in North America.
“Partnering up with one of the biggest global sporting brands in the world elevates our ambitions as an esports organisation. PSG TNA is the perfect joining of forces to become the premiere, industry-leading Fortnite team not only in the Americas, but in the world.”
Apart from Fortnite, the PSG Esports wing already has teams in League of Legends, DotA 2 and Arena of Valor among others.
In 2021, PSG Esports had unveiled a new esports studio in Paris wholly for gaming and other digital activities.
