The Washington Wizards and American multinational fast-food chain McDonald’s have enjoyed a longstanding relationship that began in 2015.
The two parties collaborate to bring fans exclusive offers and discounts.
Capital One
Capital One Financial Corporation, a McLean, Virginia-headquartered American bank holding company specialising in credit cards, auto loans, banking, and savings accounts, is the naming rights partner of the Washington Wizards, whose home arena is thusly called “Capital One Arena”.
As per the agreement, Capital One also enjoys brand visibility via the Wizards’ social media handles and other digital assets.
Ticketmaster
Ticketmaster, an American ticket sales and distribution company based out of Beverly Hills, is currently an Official Partner of the Washington Wizards.
As per the deal, Ticketmaster enjoys brand visibility across digital Wizards assets, with tickets to the team’s games available exclusively on the Ticketmaster platform.
Alibaba
Alibaba Group Holding Limited, a Chinese multinational tech company specialising in e-commerce, retail, and internet, is also an official Wizards partner.
In 2019, it was announced that Alipay, an Alibaba subsidiary, would serve as the official platform for the team’s tickets, merchandise, concessions, and more.
Alibaba also enjoys branding by appearing across the Wizards’ social media platforms and other digital assets.
Caesars Sportsbook
Caesars Entertainment announced in July 2022 its partnership with the Washington Wizards, looking to expand its 18,000-square-foot retail sportsbook at Capital One Arena.
As per the deal, Caesars Sportsbook provides betting spaces as well as culinary offerings at the Wizards home ground, while also enjoying brand visibility across the Wizards’ social media platforms.
MedStar Health
MedStar Health, a not-for-profit healthcare organisation operating in the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area, is also an official Wizards partner.
MedStar Health serves as the presenting partner for the “Starting Five” creatives shared by the Wizards ahead of each game.
ChasenBoscolo
Law firm ChasenBoscolo is an official Wizards partner and enjoys branding on their official injury news creatives on social media during the NBA season.
Michelob Ultra
Anheuser-Busch InBev, a multinational drink and brewing company based in Leuven, Belgium, also has in place a partnership agreement with Wizards, as per which its light beer Michelob Ultra gains branding rights across the team’s social media assets.
CarMax
Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the owner and operator of the Washington Wizards, announced its association with CarMax in March 2022, which sees America’s largest buyer and seller of used cars serve as an official partner to the basketball team.
The two parties come together to engage fans through in-arena activations, social media features, and other promotions. The CarMax logo features on all three LED networks, the scorer’s courtside table, and other dominant TV-visible signage at Capital One Arena.
National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA)
The NATCA is also an official Wizards partner and prominently features across the team’s social media platforms and other digital assets.
Amtrak
Amtrak announced its partnership with the Wizards along with three other NBA teams—the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks, and the Philadelphia 76ers—in November 2022.
As per the deal, the parties promote the importance of train travel, with Amtrak enjoying brand visibility through in-arena advertising, digital sweepstakes, and social media channels of the aforementioned teams.
Papa John’s
American pizza restaurant chain Papa John’s is also an official partner of the Washington Wizards. The two parties frequently come together to offer Wizards fans exclusive offers and discounts.
Hennessy
It was announced in March 2021 that the Wizards and Cognac brand Hennessy had entered into a multi-year partnership, as per which the latter would serve as the Official Spirit of the former.
The two parties have since collaborated on several community initiatives, including a virtual tour featuring local Black-owned businesses in 2021.
In October 2023, the Wizards and Hennessy expanded their partnership to create “Hennessy Lofts”, which is an enhanced courtside experience made available during the team’s NBA matches.
Robinhood
Financial services and trading platform Robinhood signed an agreement with the Washington Wizards in October 2023 to become their jersey patch partner and official brokerage partner until the end of the 2025/26 NBA season.
As per the agreement, Robinhood gains brand visibility via the Wizards games’ broadcasts, signage throughout Capital One Arena, as well as pre- and post-match commercials. It also acts as the presenting partner for the post-game show and hosts the in-game “mic’d up” segment as well.
Energix
Israeli clean energy company Energix and the Wizards announced their partnership in January 2023.
The agreement between the two has seen the Wizards launch a Hebrew-language website as well as an official Israeli Instagram account. The two parties also undertake other programmes and initiatives to help grow the game in Israel.
Sprite
The Wizards announced their first-ever partnership agreement with American multinational beverage giant Coca-Cola in 2010.
The current agreement sees Sprite, the lemon-based drink from Coca-Cola, serve as the presenting partner to the Wizards’ Friday Night Concert Series.
CareFirst
In June 2023, health insurance provider CareFirst announced its partnership with the Washington Wizards and other teams in the region to improve food security in Wards 7 and 8.
As part of this plan, the parties organise various initiatives and drives to ensure health equity between different communities.
