Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 Sponsors

This article contains information about the organisations enjoying a strong branding presence across the physical and digital assets of the 2023 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, also known as AFCON, which is a biennial international men’s football competition organised by Africa’s football-governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Official Title Sponsor

TotalEnergies 

In 2016, French energy company TotalEnergies signed an eight-year agreement with CAF, becoming in the process the title sponsor of its ten main competitions, including AFCON, which is thus officially known as the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.

Official Global Partners

Puma

German sportswear and sports equipment brand Puma and CAF announced a partnership agreement in October 2023, which made the former the official sports apparel partner and official matchball partner of all its tournaments, including AFCON. 

Global talent and event management company IMG helped broker the deal between CAF and Puma for all men’s and women’s tournaments of CAF through the end of AFCON 2025.  

1xBet

Online gambling company 1xBet became an official partner of CAF in February 2019.

For the 2023 AFCON, CAF continues its association with 1xBet, which is serving as the official betting partner to the tournament set to be held in Côte d’Ivoire.  

Orange 

CAF announced its partnership renewal with Orange in December 2023. The telecom company has served as AFCON’s exclusive telecommunications partner since 2008.

Apart from the 2023 AFCON, this renewal will also cover the 2024 Women’s AFCON as well as the 2025 men’s AFCON.

Unilever 

CAF announced in January 2024 that it had signed a deal with several Unilever brands—Rexona, Dove and Axe—for its various continental competitions.

The aforementioned brands serve as Official Sponsors to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 and the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024. This deal also sees Unilever serves as the exclusive Personal Care consumer goods partner to the two tournaments.

Visa 

American multinational payment company Visa signed a multi-year partnership agreement with CAF in October 2023.

As per the deal, Visa serves as the official and exclusive payment partner to AFCON and several other CAF competitions. The three-year deal is currently set to run until December 2026. 

Official Competition Sponsor

Tecno

Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Tecno announced its partnership with CAF in December 2023, coming on board as an official AFCON sponsor. 

Razzl

Mushin, Lagos-based beverage company Razzl signed a strategic partnership agreement with CAF in November 2023, becoming in the process AFCON’s Official Soft Drink Partner. 

As per the deal, Razzl highlights its commitment to creating memorable experiences, celebrating the love for football, and contributing to an electrifying ambience that unites fans in their passion for the game.

Apsonic

Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Apsonic was unveiled as an official AFCON sponsor in December 2023. 

Air Côte d’Ivoire

CAF announced in January 2024 that it had signed a deal with Air Cote d’Ivoire, on-boarding it as an Official Sponsor of the 2023 AFCON.

As per the agreement, the national airline also serves as the official carrier to the tournament, transporting participating teams, players and officials from one destination to another throughout the month-long event.

Ecobank

Ecobank, a pan-African banking group headquartered in Togo, became an official AFCON sponsor in December 2023.

As per the press release pertaining to the agreement, through this partnership, Ecobank aims to reinforce its connection with the millions of Africans who will be tuning in to watch the 2023 AFCON.

Official National Supporters

Céleste

Packaged drinking water brand Céleste has an agreement in place with CAF to serve as an Official National Supporter to the 2023 AFCON. 

Porteo

West African construction company Porteo Group and CAF joined forces in October 2023, which made Porteo an Official National Supporter of AFCON 2023. 

Smart Technology

Cote d’Ivoire-based electronics company Smart Technology came on board as an Official National Supporter of the 2023 AFCON in November 2023. 

Lonaci

Lonaci, the official national lottery of Cote d’Ivoire, and CAF signed a multi-year partnership agreement in November 2023, making Lonaci an Official National Supporter and the Official Offline Lottery Supporter of the 2023 AFCON in the process. 

Official Suppliers

Africa Global Logistics (AGL) 

Africa Global Logistics (AGL), a multimodal logistics operator in Africa that is headquartered in Puteaux, France, signed a partnership agreement with CAF in December 2023, thus becoming its official logistics partner.

As per the deal, AGL offers adapted, secure and innovative logistical solutions to CAF.

Global Sponsorship Agency 

IMG 

CAF and IMG, a global talent and event management company headquartered in New York, signed a multi-year partnership agreement in October 2023, which made IMG the global sponsorship agency of CAF until 2025.

The scope of the agreement between CAF and IMG includes the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 as well as the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

As per the deal, IMG also delivers sponsorship opportunities for the following CAF Competitions: the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship, the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup, the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s AFCON, and the CAF Women’s Champions League.
