Swiss Formula One team Alfa Romeo have roped in premium refinish paint brand R-M, with the latter joining as the exclusive technical paint supplier of the team.
Alfa Romeo will use R-M’s expertise to apply its products on high-tech materials, such as titanium and carbon fibre, reducing the weight of paint on their cars and surpassing all eco-effectiveness standards in the industry.
The partnership will also have the Alfa Romeo race cars painted using R-M’s eco-friendly, lightweight, innovative line AGILIS, the logo of which will be present on the floor line of the Alfa Romeo cars.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of Sauber Group and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Representative, commented:
“We are pleased to welcome R-M to Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake as our exclusive technical paint supplier. With a high level of expertise and commitment, and a common goal towards efficiency and sustainability, R-M is the ideal partner for our Formula One operations. Their top-quality products, which will be employed on our 2023 cars, have set a new standard in paint weight reduction, and will be instrumental for us to gain further speed on track. I am looking forward to working with R-M and achieving outstanding results together.“
Chris Titmarsh, Senior Vice President Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions EMEA, said:
“We are extremely proud to be joining forces with Sauber Group and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake and sharing the know-how and expertise of our pioneering solutions. Our waterborne paint line AGILIS is the most advanced lightweight paint technology: it ensures faster process times, and less overall consumption of paint materials, being at the same time able to protect the environment by reducing CO2 emissions and saving energy. We are honoured for our products to be employed by a team carrying such an important Formula One legacy, and cannot wait to get started.“
