History has been created with the signing of Ali Khan by Kolkata Knight
Riders. Ali Khan, a fast bowler from the United States, is the first-ever
American player to play an IPL. The 29-year-old is the replacement of
the English left-arm medium-pacer Harry Gurney. Harry Gurney suffered
a shoulder injury and has been pulled out making way for the
American.

Ali was also the part of the recent CPL champions Trinbago Knight
Riders. With the economy rate of 7.43 and picking up eight wickets in the
tournament, he had quite a season.

Earlier in an interview with Sportstar, he showed his love towards the IPL, saying, “I was in the auction last year but wasn’t picked, which was
tough as I thought my chances were pretty good. This year, if I get
picked, it’ll be something of a bonus. Since I started playing seriously,
the IPL has been the one I’ve targeted. It’d be a dream come true”.
