AS ROMA LANDS NEW BALANCE AS NEW KIT SUPPLIER

Serie A club AS Roma recently announced New Balance as their new technical partner starting from the 2021-22 season. The three-year deal is valued at €3m-€4m per year and will see New Balance replace fellow American rival brand Nike.

Nike and Roma had agreed a one-year deal for the 2020-21 season after prematurely ending their decade-long agreement by four years at the end of the last one.

The New Balance deal is valued less than the Nike one that was valued at €5m per year but will provide the Giallorossi a higher percentage of overall sales (40%).

Commenting on the deal, Roma’s chief executive Guido Fienga said:

“This agreement represents an important step for the club and our ambitions to continue growing. New Balance are globally recognised as leaders in their industry and we are convinced this new partnership will mark the start of many great new opportunities for our brand. We are delighted to entrust the creation of our kits to them and cannot wait to see AS Roma players wearing the new shirts.”

New Balance Football’s general manager Kenny McCallum said:

“We are delighted to have AS Roma join the New Balance family. This is more than a football club; the Giallorossi have a unique voice in the game that demonstrates a true sense of social responsibility and community. We are immensely proud to be working with the club, to bring our innovative approach to kit design and development to the beautiful world of calcio.”

Roma currently lie third in the Serie A table, seven points behind table-topping Inter Milan.
