Asia Cup 2025

Asia Cup 2025 | Match 6: India vs Pakistan | Preview and Predictions

Match six of the 2025 Asia Cup 2025 will see another chapter written in one of cricket’s greatest rivalries, as arch-rivals India face Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 14, 2025.

For the game, here are our preview and predictions.

Asia Cup 2025 | Match 6: IND vs PAK | 20:00 IST, Sep 14

The defending champions and the current world T20 champions kicked off their Asia Cup campaign in dominant style, as they steamrolled the UAE in the opening game. Bowling first, India went in with a surprise blend of one seamer, three spinners, and two all-rounders. This worked nicely in India’s favour, as their spinners put the Emirati batters in a chokehold. Kuldeep Yadav was India’s standout bowler with a four-wicket haul. In fact, all Indian bowlers were on song, with Shivam Dube also chipping in with three handy wickets, which would have definitely given the management something to think about.

With the bat, the Men in Blue didn’t have much to do chasing 58. Abhishek Sharma went all guns blazing early on to make sure he and Shubman Gill got India to the target inside five overs. The Indian batting line-up has plenty of firepower and depth, with Sanju Samson slotting in at No. 5 ahead of the all-rounders — Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, and Shivam Dube. After a relatively easy opening game, the Pakistan game will be India’s first proper test at the tournament.

Speaking of the Men in Green, they have a fresh and explosive squad. Led by Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan have arrived into this tournament without Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, though they have experience at the top of the order in Fakhar Zaman, while the explosive Hasan Nawaz has been their standout player in recent games and is the face of their new fearless approach to T20 cricket.

With the ball, seamers Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi provide plenty of experience, while the spinners — including Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Khushdil Shah — will also be key in the slow and dry conditions.

All in all, India are the heavy favourites on paper. With a more experienced squad, along with a stronger spin attack, they are our pick to take the win in this huge clash.

Fantasy XI: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel, Mohammad Nawaz, Jasprit Bumrah, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi

Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium
Winners Prediction: India
