Aston Villa FC partner with Real Unión Club

Aston Villa Football Club (AVFC) have announced a new partnership with Real Unión Club, a Spanish professional football club based in Irun currently playing in the Primera Federación, the third tier of men’s club football in Spain.

Real Unión Club were one of the founding members of LaLiga in 1928 and have three Copas del Rey under their belt.

Aston Villa senior men’s team manager Unai Emery and his brother, Igor, acquired a stake in Real Unión Club earlier this year in June. Their father and grandfather have played for the Basque club as well.

The agreement will see Real Unión Club join the V Sports global network of clubs, which will see the two parties work together to develop technical and coaching methodology while also collaborating on various other areas, including data and performance.

Aston Villa FC are the flagship side of the V Sports network, which also consists of Vissel Kobe, ZED FC and Vitória Sport Clube from Japan, Egypt and Portugal, respectively.
