Partnership announced with Sri Lanka’s T20I team.
Global online payment solutions provider AstroPay has ventured into the world of cricket with a sponsorship deal with the Sri Lankan T20I team ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which starts later this month in the UAE and Oman.
As part of the deal, AstroPay will have its logo on the Sri Lankan team’s jersey on the leading arm and also on the front of their training bibs. The business logo of AstroPay will also be featured on the team’s website and across their social media channels.
Speaking about the historic deal, Mikael Ljitenstein, CEO of AstroPay, said:
“While we have a heritage of partnerships in football, we are thrilled to be foraying into sponsoring international cricket, a sport which is a passion in the Indian sub-continent transcending all social, economic and cultural backgrounds, with millions tuning in to watch the matches. AstroPay has extensive experience within emerging markets, and this deal provides us with an excellent opportunity to bolster brand awareness in India and the wider sub-continent, which remains an important market for us.”
Sri Lanka Cricket’s CEO, Ashley de Silva, commented:
“We welcome AstroPay into our fold, and I am confident that the firm will derive excellent brand exposure by partnering with the Sri Lanka National T20 Team during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.”
