Australian sports brand Kookaburra makes Sanju Samson its ambassador

2019 is treating Indian Cricketer, Sanju Samson, extremely well. While performing extremely well in the IPL 2019 for Rajasthan Royals, Sanju has grabbed an endorsement deal with leading Victorian (Australian) sports equipment brand, Kookaburra Sports.

As per the deal, Sanju’s personal sports equipment such as bats and gloves will be made by Kookaburra. The Australian brand is looking to expand in the Indian market by associating with Sanju who originally hails from the southern state of Kerala.

Sanju was welcomed to team Kookaburra by another ambassador of the brand, Jos Buttler. On becoming a face of Kookaburra, Sanju said, “I’ve always wanted to play with the Kookaburra brand. I saw my idols like AB De Villiers and Kumar Sangakkara use it when I was growing up, and now I see my own Rajasthan teammate Jos Buttler using it. I’m very happy to be with Kookaburra and think we’ll have a great partnership.”

Kookaburra Managing Director Brett Elliot said, “In 2014 we opened a manufacturing facility in India. This has taken one hundred – plus years of knowledge from making cricket balls in Australia to India, so we can now make balls for grassroots cricket in India. This complements our role as the official ball supplier to the IPL,” Kookaburra Managing Director Brett Elliot said. Having Sanju Samson, one of the rising stars of the IPL, coming on board as a brand ambassador is another sign of our commitment to India.”
