Beatriz Haddad-Maia, who was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 30 May 1996, comes from a long history of tennis professionals, including her mother Lais Skaff Haddad and grandmother Arlette Skaff Haddad. She started playing tennis when she was just five years old.
She has won two singles wins and four doubles titles on the WTA Tour throughout her career, as well as 17 singles titles and nine doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Notably, she won the 2022 Nottingham Open, her first WTA 250 championship.
In the tournament’s 40-year existence, she also won the Birmingham Classic, making history as the only Brazilian to do so. At the Canadian Open, Haddad Maia created history once more by defeating world No. 1 Iga Witek and making it to her maiden WTA 1000 level final. She teamed up with Danilina to win the WTA 1000 in Guadalajara, and became the first Brazilian woman to qualify for the WTA Finals. She has an estimated net worth of about $2-3 million.
