BNP Paribas extends Indian Wells Open title sponsorship

French financial institution BNP Paribas has renewed its title sponsorship agreement for the Open at Indian Wells, which has been known as the BNP Paribas Open since 2009, thus becoming the longest-running title sponsor in the history of the annually-held tennis tournament.

The renewed partnership, now running through 2029, will see BNP Paribas continue hosting social, educational, and charitable activities, including the BNP Paribas Open Scholarship, which is a US$20,000 grant awarded each year at the Open to four high school students in the Coachella Valley region.

BNP Paribas also sponsors other prestigious tennis tournaments, such as the Grand Slam Roland-Garros, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments Italian Open and Monte-Carlo Masters, as well as a host of other ATP Tour and WTA Tour events.

Tommy Haas, Tournament Director of the BNP Paribas Open, commented:

We are thrilled to extend our partnership with BNP Paribas. Their support has been instrumental in making the BNP Paribas Open the world-class destination that it is today. We look forward to continuing to work with BNP Paribas in the coming years to build upon the tradition of excellence we have created together and provide fans with the unparalleled experience, thrilling matches and unforgettable moments that they’ve come to expect.

José Placido, CEO, BNP Paribas USA and CIB Americas, added:

Renewing the BNP Paribas Open contract is a testament to the continued growth of this event as well as the partnership between the tournament and BNP Paribas. The bank’s commitment to promoting tennis at all levels has made us a trusted partner in tennis and stakeholders, including BNP Paribas clients and staff, making the BNP Paribas Open our marquee tennis event here in the Americas. This agreement ensures the tournament will continue to attract top players, provide a world-class experience for attendees, and contribute to the local Coachella Valley economy, including helping the next generation of players.
