This is a titanic group stage clash between multiple World Cup champions Brazil and African heavyweights Morocco to be played on the 14th June at the New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford.

For the game, here we present our preview and prediction.

FIFA WC26 | Group C: BRA vs MAR| 03:30 IST, June 14, 2026

Currently, ranked just below Brazil in seventh place in the official FIFA rankings, the Atlas Lions are not to be taken for granted. Morocco’s incredible run to the semi-finals in Qatar was no fluke as they had been performing well in recent years.

The Selecão became the only nation to qualify for every World Cup since 1930. As for their opponents, Morocco has qualified for the World Cup eight times.

Both teams have a plethora of talented players but Brazil has been hit by key injuries ahead of the World Cup which could see them being depleted. Forwards, Rodrygo and Estêvão along with Éder Militão missed out on the flight to the USA while Neymar Jr. is part of the squad but might not be available for this game.

As for Morocco, winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli missed the squad selection due to a knee injury while some prominent names like Hakim Ziyech, Sofiane Boufal, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Amine Adli were surprisingly left out from the squad.

The recent form of both sides has been satisfactory with Brazil losing only one game in their last five which came against France in a friendly fixture. In contrast, Morocco have been unbeaten in their last five fixtures, winning three and drawing two.

Coming to the match-up, Brazil still possesses some really talented forwards in Vinicius Jr, Gabriel Martinelli, in-form Igor Thiago and Matheus Cunha, most of whom play for top European clubs. Their midfield and defence also consists of experienced campaigners along with new talent and having a serial winning coach in Carlo Ancelotti is a definite advantage. Morocco too has some exceptional players in their squad with Brahim Diaz, Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat, Bilal El Khannouss, Ismael Saibari, Noussair Mazraoui, Yassine Bounou being the key players.

Difficult to call but we do feel Brazil hold an edge due to immense experience, attacking flair and a world-class manager. In contrast, Morocco have a solid defence and hence we believe this game could result in a tense cagey affair resulting in a close win for Brazil.

Score Prediction: Brazil 2-1 Morocco

Venue: New Jersey Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
