Stevenage Football Club is a UK based football club which currently plays in the fourth tier of the English league. It has been in the news mostly because of its famous sponsorship deal with Global fast-food chain Burger King in the past years. Burger King has once again come up with an interesting stunt to support the club just like they did in 2019. They have launched something called the ‘Stevenage Challenge’ via which they have altered their logo’s name to ‘Burger Queen.’ This interesting move will certainly bring some more support to the club and give them more reach in the UK.
Burger King will sponsor both the Men and Women’s team. The club recently released a video to promote this initiative which sees the Women players of Stevenage Football Club wearing the new team jersey. The video shows the Stevenage stadium as well, and the text reads “Playing for Stevenage FC is hard. Playing for the women’s team shouldn’t be harder.” Cut to a player donning the new jersey with the Burger King logo changed to Burger Queen.
Commenting on this innovative change in the logo, Soco Nunez who is the marketing director of Burger King UK said “The women’s team faces the same challenges and hurdles as the men’s team, and it’s only fair that it receives the same support from our brand with an equal sponsorship,”
Apart from the shirt logo, Burger King will also renovate its Burger King Stevenage branch to Burger Queen and will showcase the players from the club.
