Burnley sign new partnership with Papa John’s Pizza

Global pizza chain to serve signature dishes at Turf Moor.

Premier League side Burnley FC have announced a new partnership with leading global pizza chain, Papa John’s Pizza.

The new partnership will see the Papa John’s pizzas made available at Turf Moor for all of Burnley’s home games through a new mobile serving unit.

Stuart Hunt, Director of Burnley FC, commented:

As president of PJ Restaurants, together with my valued team, we own and operate 68 Papa John’s franchised stores in the USA.

As a partner in ALK Capital, I took over as a director of Burnley Football Club in January. One of our immediate goals is to improve the whole fan zone experience and we are making progress. For us now to introduce Papa John’s to the football club was a natural choice.

Pizza brings people together and adds a hot quality food offering in the form of Papa John’s known for its “BETTER INGREDIENTS. BETTER PIZZA.” a concept where only the freshest, finest ingredients are used for a better flavour means everyone can now enjoy their favourite pizza to make the most of match days.

We kicked-off the launch of the Papa John’s pizza trailer at the end of October when we played Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup. The reception from fans was certainly a winning one!

We will now test the catering unit in different locations around the grounds to find out what works best for fans hungry to order the treat of Papa John’s pizza to enjoy with friends and family as part of their day out.

Amit Pancholi, UK Director of Business Development, Papa John’s UK, added:

We are excited to be working with the team at Burnley Football Club. As well as providing a new revenue stream which can be re-invested back into the club, offering the facility to serve-up Papa John’s pizza adds to the fun and overall experience for fans watching the game.

As a brand, we are actively developing relationships with leisure venues such as sports stadiums to ensure Papa John’s becomes available in even more locations across the UK, so our customers can enjoy our top-quality pizza wherever and whenever they choose.

With over 500 stores in the United Kingdom, Papa John’s is one of the most recognised pizza brands in the country, and Burnley FC hope to develop relationships with leisure venues through their latest partnership.
