English professional football club Chelsea FC have announced a new partnership with US-based data analytics company FICO.
As per the agreement, FICO will serve as the club’s main official partner for the 2023–24 pre-season tour, which will involve the Chelsea men’s team traveling the eastern US coast, playing several games. Chelsea, in turn, will support FICO in improving financial literacy to benefit communities around the tour.
FICO is an expert in the field when it comes to changing how companies use data and analytics to interact with their customers and customise their business plans to suit them. Through the “Field of Financial Empowerment” initiative, FICO and Chelsea FC want to stimulate interest in financial education and broaden Americans’ understanding of financial literacy.
FICO’s “Score A Better Future Fundamentals” financial education seminars for high school students will be held in the cities where Chelsea will be playing during the tour: Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Chicago, Illinois. Participants will have the option to attend a workshop in their area as well as watch the Blues play in one of their pre-season tour games.
Tom Glick, President of Business at Chelsea FC, commented:
“We’re excited about developing a strategic partnership between Chelsea and FICO. The first incarnation of this is teaming up on Chelsea’s pre-season tour this summer where we will be working closely to make a positive impact on the communities that we will be visiting. We are committed to making this one of the biggest and most successful tours in the club’s history, so are delighted to be able to partner with such an industry-leading business to help achieve that goal.”
Nikhil Behl, Chief Marketing Officer, FICO, stated:
“For over 30 years FICO has been an innovator in financial inclusion to help responsibly broaden access to credit to help consumers reach their financial hopes and dreams. Financial education is a key component of our strong commitment to financial inclusion. Through Field of Financial Empowerment powered by FICO, we’re proud to have the opportunity to visit several communities in the U.S. with the Chelsea Football Club to ensure that the next generation is equipped with valuable information to help drive financial success.”
