15-year-old British-Canadian racer Chloe Chong has been signed by PREMA Racing for the upcoming F1 Academy season.
Chong, who started karting in 2013, most recently made her karting debut at the Rotax Max Euro Trophy and the IAME Ladies Cup in 2021, internationally. She raced in the X30 Junior category of the British Championship in 2022 and was even selected for the FIA Girls On Track – Rising Star.
Rene Rosin, Team Principal, PREMA Racing, said:
“We always relish the chance to welcome new drivers from karting and having Chloe on board for her auto racing debut in our new F1 Academy team is particularly exciting. She has been impressive so far and she demonstrated it through the FIA Girls On Track – Rising Star selections and the FDA Scouting Camp. We think we spotted some great potential in terms of driving and mentality, and knowing that she has so much road ahead makes us confident about our future together.“

The season is set to kick off with the Austrian Grand Prix on April 29, 2023, with the season finale scheduled to be the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, on October 22, 2023.
