Australia’s cricket governing body Cricket Australia (CA) has renewed its partnership agreement with KFC. The partnership has been extended till the end of the 2024-25 season and will see the American fast-food chain retain the naming rights of the men’s Big Bash League (BBL).
KFC will also continue on as a partner of the Weber Women’s BBL, as a Gold Partner of the Australia men’s and women’s national cricket teams, and as the Official Restaurant of CA and the eight Big Bash teams as well. KFC will also continue to work with CA on a host of other fan-engagement activities.
Nick Hockley, CA’s Chief Executive Officer, commented:
“Cricket Australia is delighted to extend its relationship with KFC, which will continue into a remarkable 21st season in 2024-25. KFC and cricket’s pairing has become a synonymous part of the Australian summer. Together, we will continue to innovate, create brilliant experiences and bring families and friends together, whether that be in a restaurant, at the cricket or at home. We thank KFC for their incredible support of our national game.”
Alistair Dobson, CA’s General Manager of the Big Bash Leagues, added:
“The Big Bash Leagues wouldn’t be where they are today without the incredible support of KFC, the inaugural Naming Rights partner of our men’s competition. The KFC BBL is synonymous with the Australian summer, and a generation of cricket fans have grown up enjoying the sights and sounds of the Big Bash while wearing coloured Bucketheads and looking out for Bucketball free hits.“Similarly, KFC’s support has been crucial to the growth of the Weber WBBL in recent years. We look forward to celebrating the best of summer and the Big Bash with the KFC over the coming seasons.”
