Hosts Mexico will look to give their bench options a good run-out before the knockout stages begin as they look to tie up loose ends in their roster in their final Group A clash of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Czechia, who will be eliminated if they fail to get anything other than a victory.

Mexico have not exactly brought their A-game to this World Cup as of now, but it does not matter for now either, as they have qualified for the knockouts once again after two wins in two.
However, in those two games, El Tri have shown glimpses of what makes them such dangerous and unpredictable opposition for anyone in world football. They have not shown that in heaps and bounds, however, thus bringing about a sense of frustration and ire among their fans.
Mexico will have to increase the number of chances that they create. The four big chances they have created thus far put them among the bottom half of the sides in terms of chances created across the tournament. While the three goals they’ve scored are indicative of the clinical edge they definitely possess, they’ll need to create more chances in the knockouts to make a deep run in the tournament.
For Czechia, anything less than a win here and they are out. It has been a rather subdued and ordinary performance from them in a tournament where they hoped to be more competitive.
They should have held on to those valuable three points against South Africa after getting that early goal, but failure to create clear-cut chances and being too defensive eventually culminated in them giving away the penalty for the equaliser.
Czechia will look to make use of their size in the box as they look to cause mayhem with their crossing accuracy. Goals are the biggest currency for the Czechs, and they will need to be creative in order to score more of them against Mexico.
That said, we believe Mexico are the favourites here for a win and have too much firepower for Czechia to handle.
